Question about GE Spacemaker JVM1640SJ Microwave Oven
Both bulbs in my GE over the range microwave oven JV1651WB003 blew at the same time. I replaced both bulbs with a 40 W 120V bulb. The replacement bulbs fail to operate. What is my next step?
Most electronic control boards have undersized circuit wires that can't handle a catastrophic lamp failure. The circuit trace will open like a fuse. If you or someone knows how to use a soldering iron, this can be repaired.
1. Remove the top grille. (Two screws on top)
2. Remove screw above button panel. Push up on panel to remove.
3. Remove circuit board from panel. Look on reverse side for open circuit trace.
4. Repair circuit trace...lights work again....
