Question about LG LF-U850 Shelf System

1 Answer

Volume raised by itself

My stereo has raised the volume up by itself a couple of times, sometimes all the way up to the max. Does anyone know what the cause might be? I purchased it not even one year ago.

Did you ever get a solution to your problem ? I have the same problem, I called Customer service and they wanted me to reset the unit by just unplugging it for 40 seconds (and holding down the power button while it was unplugged) which didnt seem like a way to reset it to me, since all of my radio presets were still there. it did it again yesterday, the volume all the way up. The Cust Svc person (who im sure is not a tech) said she had never heard of this problem and said I could send it in for service for $69 plus parts. (not worth it.) email me back if you found out a better solution, i just found the resetting by unplugging didnt work for me. jen21090 @ yahoo . com

Volume button sticks and raises to max level and cannot be turned down.

It sounds from your description there is a fault in the audio section electronics rather than with the button.

Volume pegs to max. Turns itself on. Goes to menu. Intermittent

This is becoz your Internal Remote control response program chip needs to be replaced! You need it to get repaired at nearest service station. Or it may be due to Your keys pressed continously from remote control. Check both the causes! then decide. It will help you!

2009 Hyundai Sonata decreases volume by itself

Do you have the AVC (auto volume control) enabled? If so, disable it and see what happens. If that doesnt fix it, try to do a "hard reset" by pulling out the shunt fuse. It's 1 or 2 fuses in a little yellow thing in the fuse box on the inside driver side, just pull it out a little, not all the way. Your dome lights, door dinger ect should stop working as well, this is normal. Wait 5 min and push it back in, hopefully that'll fix it up.

Volume automatically decreased to zero and won't go back up.

Plug the audio out to check it isn't the speaker itself failing. I suspect it is the audio circuit section of the board. But a few times I have experienced the speaker unit circuit where the magnet is caused the problem. So using an external speaker helps to determine speaker vs circuit

Thanks for using FIXYA

No sound on viewsonic VG730m

you have to connect it via audio cable.
you need a cable with two 3,5mm stereo jacks. this you have to connect with the stereo output of your computer (mostly the green one) with the audio jack on your monitor. it's somewhere on the back i think. sound / volume control you do in windows - its the same as if you connect normal stereo speakers to your computer.
(perhaps you have to unmute or to raise the volume in the monitors os menu)

Volume is very low

Use the satellite receiver remote control to adjust the volume first. The receiver itself offers volume control and you probably have that turned down. Then you are trying to raise it with the volume control on the TV. This is raising the TV volume, but there isn't much sound there in the first place. Use the receiver remote, and you will probably see a volume bar. At some point it might say something like "best stereo" or a star might appear. If that happens leave the volume set there, otherwise just raise it all the way. Then control the volume with the TV remote, or program the DirecTV remote for your brand of TV, and the volume button should control the TV then.

Volume Does what It wants

My Yahoo YHT-400 does something similar, only it won't do it right away, it has to start getting hot first, then if I have the volume set at 25 or higher, it will slowly start turning itself up louder until it either maxes out, or I intervene. Either way, it's really annoying, even though I'm only using it as an amplifier for my computer. I just figured it was doing it where it's second-hand and had tons of dust inside caked in and around the fans until I cleaned it out. But when on AUX/TV, one would think the Bit Rate Transfer gauge would remain at 00, but it jumps up and down constantly, whether there's any audio being put through it or not.

Problem with volume in player

Every mp3 player manual has a disclaimer that says not to play it at max volume - the only workaround is to get adjustable headphones, and keep player volume at less than max
