All nokia secret codes

Tips / undocumented functions:
- At the top of the main-menu and every folder, the keys 1 to 9 are shortcuts to the icons 1-9

- A shortcut on the left menukey in standby-mode will take more time to open than a shortcut on the right menukey. Reason: The left key is also used for the keylock so it shortly waits for pressing the * button.

- While writing text press and hold "#" to switch between Alpha mode and Number mode. You can also press a key long to insert its number.

- In standby-mode, press and hold 0 to launch your wap home page.

- If you have your keylock activated just press the on/off button to turn on your backlight to look at the time when it's dark without having to unlock the keypad.

- To keep the backlight on, run Torch (freeware), press and hold the Menu button and go somewhere else on the phone.

- To check your current firmware version simply type *#0000# in standby screen.

- To check your IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) type *#06# in standby screen.

- To check your Bluetooth device address type *#2820# in standby screen.

- Start up in Safe Mode (no 'auto start' apps will be running): Hold down the pencil key when you turn on the phone and hold it on until you have to enter your PIN code.

- Format the phone memory by typing *#7370# in standby screen.

- In standby mode,
45# + <talk> dials the number on your sim in memory slot 45.
50# + <talk> dials slot 50 and so on

Suggested wording for text messages

Above the numbers on your phone is a circle with 4 arrows, one pointing in each direction.....when the word that you want appears on your screen push the arrow that points right. It will then put the word into your text message and skip a space so that you can begin the next word

NOKIA E71 Tips and Tricks

bdb92c9.jpg

The E71 was one of the very best handsets to come out of Nokia factories in 2008 and the best ever in my book. So it is only right that we utilise its functionality to the absolute hilt and try and make the E71 even more efficient.

Here is a long list of must know tips and tricks for the E71. You might already know a few but if you are new to S60 and the E71 in particular, I’m sure this will make for a happy start to the E71 new year!

  • STICKY FUNCTION KEY – A quick double press on the bottom left ‘function’ key locks it. This is helpful in situations when you need to press a combination of keys or in applications like Gmail which can be controlled via the keypad.

  • 1-800-WHATEVER – To dial 1-800-WHATEVER: type 1800, hit Fn, then Shift twice, type WHATEVER, and press the Call/Green key to dial. (The idea is to type in the alphabet mode in CAPITAL letters ONLY). The alphabets will automatically be converted to numbers.

  • ONE TOUCH MUTE – You can simply mute a call by press the button between the volume keys present on the right hand side of the phone. Press it again to cancel the mute.
  • REMAP THE KEYS – There are times when you feel certain keys on the E71 are being wasted when they could have come in very handy. For example, the volume keys would work wonderfully with the web browser to scroll pages or in your music player and the mute key could work as select. Make that happen.
  • TIME & DATE – When the phone is in the locked state and the screen is blank, hit the Navi Button to display the time and date in a large font.

  • TEXT MESSAGES – When in the standby mode, hold down left soft key to read out new text messages.

  • ASSIGN SHORTCUTS - If you have a lot of applications installed on your E71, you might want to assign additional shortcuts to different applications by definying a set of keypresses with an application called Cute Keys.
As a follow up to the above tips, here are a few shortcuts that you should enjoy. I have highlighted some of the lesser known ones.

  • To get to a symbol or number hold down its key.

For all SE T6XX phone users

Hi to all T6XX users. I created this thread just to help you find most of

the tips and tricks that can be done on T6XX. Hope this will help

reduce searching and posting.
I tried them on my T610 with fw R3C002 and all of them work.

1. O.k, i'll start with the camera.
On phones with newer firmware, u can use the joystick to adjust

saturation and shutter speed (brightness).
Up/Down to increase/decrease brightness
Left/Right to adjust saturation.

There are shortcut in the camera function:
Press 1 to change the size of picture
2 to act/deact Night mode
3 to turn on/off Effects
4 to act/deact Timer

To prevent the software from compressing the pictures taken by the

camera, u should continuously tap the joystick or the camera button

until it ask Send-Save-Discard and the backgroung will become black.

After saving the picture, take another one and the phone will process

the previous picture and u should get a clear and sharp picture.
But the disadvantage is that the picture will take about 50-60kb

instead of 30-40kb.

2. Cut-Copy-Paste function (only available whn editing contacts in

phonebook)
Highlight the contact to be edited and press More and choose Edit

Contact. Now, for example if you have replace the number in Home by the

number in
Mobile, just highlight Mobile and press and hold * followed

by 1, the number will disappear. Highlight Home and press and hold *

followed by 3. The number will be pasted here.
Cut - press and hold * then 1
Copy - press and hold * then 2
Paste - press and hold * then 3

3. Add a ghost image (not ghost that
ur thinking of, i'm talking about

a hidden image) to a contact.
Add the image u want to the contact. Now in My Pictures, open the image

that u applied to the contact and rotate it. When u'll erase the image,

the phone won't say that the picture is in use. U can erase it and the

picture will stay applied to the contact. To see the image, u just have

to Go in Phonebook-Pictures.
---Please note that u can't move back the picture in My Pictures, so

backup the picture before doing this---

4. Highlighting texts.
When u are writing a message or anything else, u can highlight a

part of it so that it can be erased or formatted quickly. to do

that, press and hold a Volume Button and move the joystick to

highlight.

5. Memory function in Calculator.
If u have save a number in memory when using the calculator, press the

Volume button +

6. Write text messages with the WAP button.
Create a new bookmark with any name and write mailto: in Address.
U can also use it as a template. For example if u want to create a new

text message with Hello already written in it, the address should be

written like that, mailto:Hello
That's a very nice trick as a new text message can be created with a

starting phrase already written using the WAP button.

7. How to get extra memory when it's full
Create an empty theme (without pictures) with Theme Creator, send it to

the phone.
When
ur memory is full and that u need some more memory to take

pictures or record sounds, apply the empty theme and u'll get extra

memory, the amount that will be freed up depends on the size actual

theme. Normally it frees up between 20-100kb.
