MacMini 10.5.4. How to copy mail.mac address book to Palm desktop

Actually, you were wrong and right.
Go into Export in the Address Book, not email. Then import into Palm Addresses
That does not work for iCal(endar), iTunes, or iPhoto. There should be some commonality but I haven't found it. Do you have an answer?

In order to sync a Palm device with other applications, including Outlook on Windows, or Apple's iCal and Address Book on the Mac, users can install Palm conduits, which divert data headed to Palm Desktop to an alternative selection of apps on the computer instead.

Sir,

The Easy Way. The best way to do achieve this goal is to throw down $10 and buy Outlook2Mac from Little Machines. You can buy it right off their website. Not only will it transfer your contacts, but also any of your old email and calendar events you specify. You run the program on your PC and it holds your hand while creating files you will transfer your new Mac. One important note: Outlook2Mac is only for Outlook, not the free Outlook Express program that comes with Windows.

Because it translates your Outlook files into industry standard files, you can also import not only to Mail and Address Book, but also to Entourage if you are using that instead of Mail. So the quick and easy way is to:

  1. Purchase Outlook2Mac and load it on your PC.
  2. Run it to create a folder of files called My_Outlook_Files.
  3. Copy those files to your new Mac.
  4. Import the files into Address Book.

or try this....

Add (import) the addresses into Address Book
  1. Open the Address Book application.
  2. Choose Import from the File menu.
  3. Navigate to the file that you exported from your previous application and select it from the list of files. Tip: if you cannot select the file, the Open button will not pulsate. This may indicate that the file is not in a format that Address Book can read.
  4. Click Open.
Your addresses (contacts) are now available for use in Address Book and all Mac OS X applications that work with Address Book.

You'll want to go into the email program and "export" it as a file, then transfer it your palm and "import" it with the palms email program. this feature should be in the File menu on each of these.

Migrate Palm address book to MacBook

This is a general answer to head you in the right direction, I hope. Reply back if you need more detail.

If you are syncing with Windows Palm Desktop software, you can (most likely) export contacts, calendar and memo items to a CSV file.

CSV files are data standards. They're simply text files with a comma-delimiter that designates where fields end. This makes them cross-platform compatible.

Once you export to CSV files, get them on your mac (email them to yourself, put them on a flash drive etc) and then import them into iCal, Address book etc.

Good evening....i think i left my palm "on" & not charged last night. i opened it this afternoon & it was a white screen that said RESET. i tried to turn on or off & pressed restart...

Hi, from the sounds of your situation, im sorry to tell you that your address book is gone. If you have hotsync with your desktop before, you may be able to retrieve a copy of your address book from your last sync. Otherwise there are companies available to recover data from pdas but their services are very expensive.

Downloading contacts from Palm to iphone

Just save the contacts as described above "Bring up Palm Desktop. Make sure your Palm phone is sync'ed up. Show the Address page, select all contacts (Ctrl-A), and export them with File, Export vCard... This puts all contact information into a single file as a sequence of vCards."
Then send the file you saved as an e-mail attachment - using any mail (i.e. gmail, yahoo, outlook, etc) - to your i-phone e-mail. Open this email on the i-phone and push the attachement - it then asked you if you want to add these, click (push?) yes, and select eithr merge or new and voila you got them.

How do I copy address book and calendar from Tungsten E to Outlook?

In order to synchronize with Outlook you need to setup the replication to be with Outlook instead of Palm Desktop. On you cd there should be a third party piece of software (Chapura). Install the required software and follow the instructions.
