Powers up compaq screen comes on and stops doe's nothing

If the computer power on and then suddenly freeze, this mean one of the following problems:the computer is having resource conflict, for example if you are using a PS2 mouse you can use a USB mouse instead.I must also tell you that if you recently install any hardware or software you should uninstall it from the computer and restart it.The computer may also be infected with spywares or viruses so you will need to scan the computer with antivirus and antispyware software you can go to www.cnet.com and download free antivirus and antispyware software for your computer, you should also download ccleaner this clean the registry and the browsers. Thank you

USB Optical Mouse is moving haphazardly and fast, without any control. Even if i don't touch it cursor moves. It has been tested on different HP and compaq laptop models. I have tried various plain pads on...

This might help as I brought a wirless mouse and it was wissing around the screen.
If you go to Start on your computer then
Click on CONTROL PANEL then
click on MOUSE then
click on pointer options and you can adjust the speed of it.

Mouse cursor moving by itself

In windows xp go into start menu, then into control panel then click on appearance and themes, then move your mouse over to mouse pointers click on it , uncheck "enhance pointer precision, and click apply, that will stop the mouse from acting crazy, this will work with dell mouse pointers and most.

I noticed you were talking about over heating issues. Does the mouse issue happen when the computer is on for a period time?

I know with some laptops there is software for the "gadgets" on the mouse pad. If you have software related to it.. try reinstalling.

I am getting mixed thoughts of what you maybe talking about... please explain.

Faulty mouse

You need to check your settings by going to Start-----Control Panel------Mouse. Make sure everything is normal. If its all good from there, try a different mouse. The software installation should have nothing to do with your mouse function.
