Sir,

it all depend on if you are leasing the equipment or bought the equipment.....if you bought it and its paid for then you should be able to keep it, if not then they will take it...contact direct tv to find out for sure

If you've completed your contract, you own the equipment. Even though it's kind of worthless. People were buying back. So check out with operator service.

Thanks
Good luck

I recently purchased a new Denon AVR-391 receiver and am having a problem hooking up my subwoofer. It seems that the Denon has a pre-out RCA looking output and my subwoofer uses conventional speaker wire. ...

Hi,
Your sub-woofer apparently does not have an amplifier built into it. This type requires you to use your front left and front right speaker output to got through it to your regular speakers. It is called a passive sub-woofer for that reason.
To set it up, Connect your front speakers to the "output" of the sub. It should say "to speakers" on it.
Then connect the Speaker Outputs for the left front and right front on your Denon AVR-391 directly to the Sub. It should say on the back of the Sub "to amplifier".
Here is some theory you should know, if you don't already know it, that will help you get a satisfactory result in setting up this system.
There is a condition on setting up all speakers and subs that not everyone know. It's call "phase alignment". Phase alignment (A Good Thing) refers to all of the speakers in a system moving in the same direction (in and out) at the same instant in time. This gives you much clearer sound and better response from your sub-woofer.
Phase Cancellation (a bad thing) is when some of the speakers are moving out and other moving in during the very same instant in time. It causes problems in sound.
IN A SUB-WOOFER, IT CAN CANCEL OUT THE LOW NOTES.
Here is how to handle it:
On the back of the receiver the speaker terminal outputs are colored Red and Black. Black is considered negative and Red is considered positive. On the back of the Sub woofer and on the speakers the same colors apply. MAKE SURE THAT ALL OF THE CONNECTIONS GO BLACK TO BLACK AND RED TO RED WHEN CONNECTING UP THE SPEAKER WIRES.
The system will work either way. But you will have severe bass loss if the woofer wiring is out of phase because of phase cancellation.
Hope this helps,
Best Regards,
Mark

My niece decided to push a rather odd sequence of buttons on the sound system and now nothing is setup correctly. while i have fixed the niece problem, i have yet to figure out why i cant fix the sound...

It's in the manual on page 59.

1 Press STANDBY/ON on the front panel to set this unit to the standby mode.
2 Press and hold
TONE CONTROL and then press STANDBY/ON to turn on this unit.
The advanced setup menu appears in the front panel display.
3 Press PROGRAM l / h to select “PRESET”.
4 Press
STRAIGHT repeatedly to select “RESET”.
Select “CANCEL” to cancel the initialization procedure without making any changes.
5 Press STANDBY/ON to confirm your selection and set this unit to the standby mode.
• This procedure completely resets all the parameters of this unit including the set menu parameters.
• The initial factory settings are activated next time you turn on this unit.

To cancel the initialization procedure at any time without making any changes, press STRAIGHT repeatedly to select “CANCEL” and then press STANDBY/ON.

The unit fails to turn on, 2day's ago it worked fine i've put it in stand by with my remote. Today it won't start i've disconected everithing, unplugged power sply for halt an hour. Still don't work...

If you don't mind resetting all of your personal parameters you might want to flush everythign and start fresh.

The manual says to Hold TONE CONTROL and PressStanby/On to turn the unit on as if you want to reprogram it.

Press Program </> to select Preset

At this point I would think we would had established that it CAN turn on or not.

If it's ON, Press STRAIGHT until CANCEL appears, then Standby/On to Cancel and turn it off.

Try to turn it on normally.

Onkyo tx 902

I have a TX-902 owners manual.
It states:

Classified Memory Function. The memory can be divided for different users or programs of stations.
How to classify stations. With this model, six classes (Class A to F) are available and stations can be memorized in any class. A total of 30 stations can be memorized in any class. A total of 30 stations can be memorized.

1. Tune in the desired station.
2. Press the MEMORY button. The MEMORY indicator will flash for 8 seconds.
3. Press the desired Classified Memory button (one of buttons A to F). The station is memorized in the selected class with the memory number which is the smallest of the unoccupied numbers in the class.

By repeating the operations above, up to 30 stations can be memorized. Any more will produce "FULL" notice.

How to cancel memorized stations:
Retrieve the class number you want to cancel and then press the MUTE/MODE button while holding down the MEMORY button. Another station can be memorized with the memory number which has been cancelled.

Hope this helps.
