Widescreen (16:9), and 480p

To use 480p, you will need to upgrade your standard Wii video cable to component cables to see the difference.

Can i connect a pc to a wii to view pc screens a my tv

Instructions things you'll need:
  • Wireless router
    • 1 Determine if your Internet connection is compatible with the Wii's online console features. If you are using a dial-up connection you will not be able to connect to the Internet through the Wii console. The best connectivity is with a cable, DSL or fiber-optic connection.
    • 2 Start up your Wii. Go to the main menu. Click on the Wii icon button on the bottom left side of the screen.
    • 3 Select the "Wii Settings" button with a wrench icon. Go to the "Wii System Settings" menu.
    • 4 Click on the arrow on the right side of the screen to scroll to page two of the settings. Click on the "Internet" tab.
    • 5 Select "Connection Settings" from the menu that appears. Your screen should show three connection slots all saying "none" next to them. Select "Connection 1."
    • 6 Choose "Wireless Connection" from the pop-up screen. A new screen will appear that reads "Search for an Access Point," "Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector," and "Manual Setup." The easiest way to set up the Wii online is to select "Search for an Access Point."
    • 7 Wait a moment for your Wii to find an access point. When the words "Choose the access point you want to connect to" appear on your screen, click "OK."
    • 8 Pick your access point. Choose the point that is listed with a green signal strength icon.
    • 9 Save the settings by clicking "OK." Your Wii console will perform a test. A window will pop up asking you to perform a Wii system update.
    • 10 Complete the system update. Read and agree to the "User Agreements." You should be able to view movies, TV shows, websites, news and games from your PC on your TV.

I previously had my wii on an older tv and it worked fine. I recently purchased a new tv (Sharp Quatron Aquos) and when I hooked up my wii and same cables to the tv, my screen is now a hazy black and white...

You are using composite cables(red, white, yellow) mine did the same thing. The aquos is all digital, wont read analog, which is what composite cables are.
They now make a component cable for the wii. I paid $28 at b.b.

Wii game hooked up to new Sharp LED tv. TV is color and the wii is in black and white.

Usually this is either a cable or a mode issue. First make sure that you have the correct cable connections. (Composite video cable to a component video jack is one possible cause of the problem.) Component video cables are not included with the set but will give better results. However, composite video in from the wii's composite video out should give good results.

If you are using HDMI or component video cables, then go into the Wii video menus to select the correct mode for your tv. Check your TV manual and the Wii setup guide for details on the mode (resolution, etc) you should be using.

If the problem persists, try new video cables and make sure that they are fully seated on both sides. Try switching inputs if you have several available.

I hope this helps.

Recently got a Sharp HD tv and trying to connect the wii to it... the wii picture only comes up in black/white? how can this be fixed.

Hi there,
Apparently the settings on your Wii are set to be displayed in PAL (Japan), where your TV is trying to output it as NTSC, hence they are conflicting. Check the settings in your Wii and change it to NTSC to see if that corrects your problem. I would also check the connection for your AV Cables or Component Cables, they may be loose or plugged in improperly.

I want to hook my wii to a new tv and don't remember how to hook up the internet? Also how do I reset the controller to a new tv?

If wireless, go to the options section of your wii, then, head to wii settings, then on the second page, it should say Internet. Then add internet. For reconnection with wii remotes, open a section on the power side of the wii and simultaneously hit the red button on the wii, and the wii remote(s) (located in the back)
Hope this helps!!!

Tried to hook up to a AKAI Plasma TV...Only get black and white grainy picture

Ok this is a quick fix. All you ned to get a set of Wii HD cables from the store and all should be fine. Also you might not want to put your Wii on a Plasma TV its not good for the TV try using on LCD, LED, or plain old tv works best that way no image burn

I cant put my wii in the HD setting.

you will have to get the HD Component AV Cable. the HD output is only 480p and the standard tv signal is 480i.It not a big jump in graphics.
