Open Question

Hi I have a Hoover optima 1400 nextra 8 front loading washer and the delay button keeps flashing, water wont drain and spin so load never ends - its holding my washing hostage! Some one suggested pressing the delay button 6 times fast or turning off power for an hour and retrying but this hasnt worked. Any suggestions.

Washer keeps stopping and is still full of water and the delay start button is flashing

Drain pump is either blocked or failed. Check the pump filter which should be at the front right of t he bottom of the machine. If this is clear, you may have to remove the pump to get debris out of the pump housing. Ly the drain hose on the ground to drain the machine first and unplug before going at it.

Machine not draining

Can you hear the pump running just before the spin cycle, if so then I suspect a blockage in the filter or pump hose, If not and machine is quiet then it could be a faulty water pump or PCB board and you would have to call a technician.

Water not draing away and machine is not spinning

Empty your machine manually by lowering the drain hose into a bowl or bucket. Then remove the kick plate and check the filter for blockages. Before replacing try the machine on drain to see if the pump is running, if problem persists there may be a blockage in the pipe from the drum to the pump.

Program don't start, flashing ligths (start and "delay start" button) for 5 times.

What does the error code mean do you have any idea Is it mentioned in the Hand book. At any rate logic suggests a watewr supply problem that the first thing a washing machine needs - water. So a tap not turned on a Kinked hose An inlet valve solenoid failure- Three things for you to check
