Frigidaire Affinity panel turns on (lights up), even counting down, but the dryer won't tumble or heat. Help?!

Hi margaretc920 - Often when a dryer turns but will not heat, it is because either a fuse from the fuse box is blown or the switches on the breaker tripped, depending on your house. If your house uses fuses, there are two house fuses that supply voltage to the dryer circuit in your fuse box. If one of the two fuses is blown, the unit may turn but will not heat. Check and replace fuse in fuse box if necessary. However, if the house has circuit breakers, there may be two breakers with switches that supply voltage to the dryer and if one is tripped the unit as well will experience this issue. The heater of a dryer requires 220 to 240 volts to operate. Try resetting the unit by either unplugging it or flipping the household breaker to the off position. Wait approximately two minutes, turn on the dryer and select a normal cycle. If the issue persists, it could also potentially mean a number of other things: defective cord, wiring, control board or door switch. I would personally contact a professional to accurately diagnose the dryer to determine the root cause to reduce the risk of unnecessary parts.

WE HAD A POWER OUTAGE.NOW MY KEURIG WONT TURN ON. CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. THANK YOU.

Hi,first you need to check if fuse has not been blown out.Because when POWER comes back after an outage there is a surge voltage flowing through electrical lines. It is advisable that when their is a POWER outage you have to turn off your FUSE box or SAFETY box to make sure that it won'tdamage appliances when POWER comes back>Technically when POWER SOURCE or SUPPLY has been shut off for a period of time. When POWER is back, expectantly there is an abnormal flow of current/line; current will not be as stable until a period of time..AC current behaves like a wave, values changes from time to time especially when POWER SOURCE has just been TURNED ON..So better turn off FUSE BOX when experiencing POWER OUTAGE so that when power comes back SURGE VOLTAGE wont flow within the circuit>Hope this helps..

My Bernina Activa 240 won't turn on. I checked the outlets and they are fine. I even plugged it into different outlets hoping for something to work and it didn't. Can I take it apart and fix it...

Likely the problem is a blown fuse in the S-Print (power supply). You must have a grounding wrist strap when working with a Bernina Activa. They are extremely sensitive and can easily destroy the main circuit board if you don't use a wrist strap. You can get one at Radio Shack for less than $5. The power supply is the square 1/3 of the machine on the back on the handwheel side. You can remove the power supply by removing the long torx screw on the rear of the machine and tilting out enough to unplug the connector. Then dismantle the power supply until you can get to the fuse. Test the fuse with a continuity tester. If the fuse is blown, buy an exact fuse. Don not deviate. If the fuse is not blown, you may need a new power supply.

We just had a power outage.... washer will not turn back on.. door will not open... cannot get any of the lights to come on...power, start, cancel nothing.... Thank you Lisa

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Have you checked the washer's supply socket? Test with another item such as a kettle. If not OK then check the breakers/fuses in the mains supply box. If they are all OK is there a fuse in the washer plug? If so check that. If you have no way of checking it, change it for another one ;-0)
If all these fail I fear it means a call for an engineer, sorry ;-0(

If this has assisted and/or clarified the situation for you please consider a 4 thumbs up on our rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Check this all this can cause that your washer is not working:

  • Check that the washer is plugged in securely
  • Check the circuit breaker or fuse box
  • Test the outlet for curent
  • Check that the water supply valves are turned on
  • Inspect the filter screens
  • Test for overheating
  • Test the water level switch

GJP85200 Whirlpool Oven display went dead

First you need to check if a supply is available to the machine. The safest way to do this is with a non-contact voltage detector. You can get one for around £10. (Also called volt sniffers by some) If you have an electrical supply to the machine I would call for service, use yell.com to contact your most local cooker engineer. If there is no supply you need to check back at your fuseboard to find out why.Have you reset all the trips?. Is there a spur with a fuse in it between the cooker and the fuse box?

the fuse (if it has one) is on the power supply next to where the plug plugs in. if the fuse is ok, replace the power supply.
