This problem is called as horizontal display problem, caused from dry soldering and also due to failulre of horizontal display controller resistor and IC .So locate for dry solders,if there is no dry soldered components,replace horizontal display controller IC. It will Solve your problem.

All electronic components(resistors,capacitors,IC) are fixed to PCB(Circuit Board) with a silver color metal component called as soldering.In several cases these silver color metal get separated from component and PCB ,then it is known is desoldering. So soldering is connecting point between PCB and electronic components.
Ya...deffinately! Because when components are cool it work normally but after certain time there is evolution of large heat from faulty component,it will cause problem.

I turned the tv off for a while and then turned it back on. It is working fine again now.Is this normal with the problem you stated?
