Question about Lexmark X4270 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Blurry Picture I have a Lexmark X63 that prints very poor (faded) pictures and very clear texts. What is wrong with the printer? Refilling the ink did not help. Thank you for any insight that you can offer.

Check that your print quality is not set to "Draft" in Windows.
Check for ink residue on your color cartridge.
Try replacing the color cartridge

If all else fails...
Update the printer driver using software from the vendor website.

When scanning a picture, the picture comes out faded even if the picture is clear and crisp.

Most scanners allow you to chose what resolution that you want to scan the photo at and you may have selected too low a resolution, for example for the web. If you want the highest resolution scan you need to select the TIF option if its there. If not, select the highest number available.
When you say its "faded", do you mean when it prints out or when it shows on your computer screen? If its when it prints, obviously it could be a printer ink issue or maybe your printer is set to "fast print", which gives poor resolution and may look how you explain.

LEXMARK X63 NOT RECONIZING LEFT CART.

I did find a procedure online to clear the memory and that did the
trick. Here it is, may help someone in the future:

Open lid, take both cartridges out. Physically remove the power cord from outlet or back of unit. While pressing the Stop/Clear button, plug cord back and kee pressing until a message saying "clearing memory" comes on. Reinstall ink. You're done, the message should go away.

Blurry pictures

If you are running XP, I would open them with the picture and fax viewer and print them that way.  I believe work downsizes the image quality in order to save on the big size of the document.

Poor and inconsistent quality from the black ink.

the problem seems to be un-even distribution of ink. try a different and new ink cartridge. Since you are refilling the cartridge, the ink inside of the cartridge is getting magnetized, there by, the ink stick to the drum of the cartridge and don't distribute the ink evenly. shake would clear it. you need to demagnetized the drum.

I have a Lexmark x1100 Series printer and cannot print anything now. This printer has been working but it stopped printing. Do not have the CD.

Need more info. Any error messages? Did it just stop pumping ink on paper. Are you trying to print black text or color picture? If no error, your cartridges may be empty. If black text does not work, try color picture. Usually one cartridge goes empty and the other still has ink. If color pic prints replace black cartridge. If neither black or color prints at all, it may be a toasted printhead

If you need to reinstall the software, uninstall it, then go to lexmark.com and get new drivers from their site. RESTART COMPUTER! Reinstall from the downloaded file.

If all the above fail to make it work, it is hosed, shop for new printer.

Try clearing the print queue under printer preferences and then try turning unit off and wait, then on again to reset it.

Low ink reading

Thats a cartridge problem. Office max, staples and office depot do not have very good dell compatibles. I've heard since lexmark makes them, they use generic ink for all dell/lexmark. take it back, and go to cartridge world. They have specific inks for dells.
