It can fix many windows issues. Be sure to read each check box to make sure you check the one you need for your problem.

Antivirus: your system is secured.

Launch internet browser > www.avast.com > support > Free antivirus > register to get licence > complete the personal information inform, selecting "home" use > submit > navigate to your e-mail account > open e-mail inbox > open avast e-mail > highlight, right click and copy the code in the avast e-mail > right click on orange avast icon bottom right > registration information > right click and paste the code into the "insert registration code" box > OK > restart computer.

My laptop l300 toshiba satellite lan stop working after some time and lan disapper from my network place

Let windows boot and log in to windows.

Go to 'Start'--->Programs--->Accessories--->System Tools--->System Restore

Here you will have to check "Restore computer to an earlier time' and click Next
Now you will find one Month Calendar window with Dates below, go to the previous month by clicking the '<' sign in the upper left hand corner of the Month Calendar and select any date that you see in Bold.

The detail of that particular date should show "System Checkpoint" and time on the right hand side box. Select that date.

Now, Click on Next and System Restore will start and windows will take a reboot.

After reboot your problem should be resolved.

Even if you running anti-virus software, it may be beneficial to scan your PC with another scanner to check for viruses. No anti-virus software is 100% perfect at catching everything. Here are a few good free online virus scanners that you can run to check your PC:

An excellent free utility for overall system maintenance is Advanced System Care Free ( http://download.cnet.com/advanced-systemcare-free/3000-2086_4-10407614 .html ). I use this utility on a regular basis.

You should always run anti-virus software. There are several very good, free, anti-virus products available. One good source to read editor and user reviews, and safely download anti-virus software, is http://download.cnet.com -- search for free antivirus software. In addition to the reviews, you can see how many people are downloading the software, which is another good indicator of how popular it is.

I have used AVG Free ( http://download.cnet.com/avg-anti-virus-free/3000-2239_4-10320142.html ) , and Avast Free ( http://download.cnet.com/avast-free-antivirus/3000-2239_4-10019223.htm l ). Both are very good, and completely free. At present I am using Avast on all of my home computers.

I have heard good things about Avira AntiVir Free ( http://download.cnet.com/Avira-AntiVir-Personal-Free-Antivirus/3000-22 39_4-10322935.html ), and it has good ratings, but I have not personally tried it.

In addition to Avast or one of the other free anti-virus software packages, I also run Ad-Aware ( http://download.cnet.com/ad-aware-free-internet/3000-8022_4-10045910.h tml ). Ad-Aware is a free anti-malware, anti-spyware package.

Good luck!

Were do you install the updated ( RT2870.arm.cab ) file?

You can down load it to a USB drive or to a SD card or a USB thumb drive and copy it to the desk top of your Sylvania SYNET07526. Then click on it as you would an application and it will overwrite the existing WiFi application called RT28701. I would advise you to down load it to a thumb drive on another machine insert it in the SYNET07526 machine, then get up "My Computer, locate the USB drive Icon, click on that Icon, then right click on the RT2870.arm.cab and hit copy, get back to your desk top and right click an empty spot on your desk top and then select paste from the menu and the file should appear on your desk top. Then double click that icon and follow the directions. Now mind you it is entirely different gor the update of the whole system. See the instructions below

It is looking for apassword (WiFi Network Key) You have to double click on the little computericon down in the right tool bar area, the one with the two side radiating arcs, and possibly has a small red X under it. The red X indicates that it is NOTconnected. When you double click on that icon a window called RT28701 opens up,then you click on Wireless Information tab, then you cursor down to the name ofyour WiFi and high light it and click the connect box. Then another windowopens up called Network Properties. Uncheck "The key is providedautomatically" box. This will allow you to type in your "NetworkKey", the password that protects your network from outsiders. This"KEY" was set up when you installed the router on your servercomputer. If this does not work at first, turn the machine over on it's backand using a toothpick, insert it into the little hole about an inch diagonallyfrom the right corner of the data plate, this will re-load a new copy ofeverything including the WiFi RT28701 driver. sometimes thisdriver gets confused. See my TIP at: http://www.fixya.com/support/r7350901-fix_synet07526_wifi_flashing AdditionalInformation When I try to signon with the red X showing, I get "The page cannot be displayed If I thendouble click on the icon down in the right corner I elucidated above, RT28701opens up to "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) with all zeros in the IP addressfield, and Subnet Mask, with no entries in the default gateway. That is a clueto me that the auto sign on has not found a viable network or needs somethingelse. If I then click on Wireless Information tab, The list of availablenetworks appear in the box. The machine keeps trying to associate my previousentered name site with my prefered site and tells me the signal is good, but itcannot link up. This is a signal to me that it has lost my Network Key or thatthe software has failed or both. I then click on advance anddelete my prefered network and hit OK, this will force the software to ask mefor my network again, and notice that the prefered is missing. I click on thename of my network again and then hit connect., then the Wireless Networkproperties window opens up and I can insert my Network Key again after Iuncheck the "The key is provided automatically" box. I enter the keyand hit the OK button. I still do not get a connection, so I reboot themachine, and wait for about 30 seconds and the machine synchs up because thelittle RED X under the icon has disappeared. Now the machine will hook to theinternet as long as I want to, but sometimes when I turn the machine on it willnot synch, so I go through the above sequence again. The secret is once youhave entered your key and ask for the machine to synch up you have to reboot. Why? I do not exactly know, but I suspect that the WiFi driver looses it

Try to download and install AVAST antivirus Home Edition. It is free. Besides, avast has an option to scan at boot time so it can detect and delete viruses and malwares before they can cling to your system memory. You can download it here.

Trying to load Avast anti- virus & get an error message can't "configure set-up"

The most current version of Avast is 5.0 and you can download the free version by Clicking Here. If you decide to go with the newer version I would recommend making sure that the 4.6 is removed. If you have issues removing 4.6 use the cleaning tool, you can find the removal tool by Clicking Here
Do you receive this error after you install Avast or after when you try and launch?
Do you have Microsoft Anti-Spyware installed?
Try running the install during a cleanboot:
Make sure that you have removed any setup files from the previous failed install, using the removal tool posted above if needed. Start the System Configuration Utility
  1. Click Start, click Run, type msconfig, and then click OK.
  2. The System Configuration Utility dialog box is displayed
  3. Select the Start Up tab
  4. Make note of any programs you may have already turned off, once you have done that select disable all
  5. Now Select the Services tab
  6. Make sure you check off Hide All Microsoft Services before making any changes
  7. Take note of any services you have turned off and then select disable all
  8. Click Apply and then OK
  9. Reboot the system and try installing 4.6 again

I get a popup mesage telling me an error has acured.

Click on "start" then "Run...". In the "Open:" box type in:
msconfig
and click on "OK".
Click on the "Startup" tab and look for a line containing IDTSysTrayApp and/or sttray.exe.
Uncheck the box on that line, and click on "OK", then "Exit Without Restart".
The audio should still work - this just disables the IDT system tray icon.

ACER ASPIRE 3000

What new softwares or updates have you just done on the Aspire 3000,You need SP 2 Updates to function properly...

Change cmos back to default and then reboot
don't touch cmos anymore

FOLLOW THESE STEPS
after start up.
go to desk top
right click on the desk top
properties
display properties opens on themes
select settings
Now with Both screens attached and powered up
box 1 displayed will allow you to adjust the properties here.
Adjust to the smallest settings first should be 800x600
and this will allow you to independantly set sizes of image for each screen. At 800x600 both screens will be identical in size in the menu box.

Screen Number # 1

click Idendify,& number 1 should appear on your screen
click advanced
select compatibilty click apply without restart and OK

Screen Number # 2

DO the same process as Screen Number # 1
image size here needs to be 800x600 too

If your video does not run it will be the screen settings I have just talked about unless you have other softwares as a default.
Remove the other softwares and try again.

You should be able to save the settings for a dual output or set output to individually operate either or.....

I hope this helps your situation,
