Question about Dell UltraSharp 1905FP 19" LCD Monitor

2 Answers

Power button My 3 year old 1905FP's power button no longer works. The button just seems to be dead. I've tried rotating it, and it is in a vertical position. I can feel it clicking in and out, but this has been a gradual problem, and now I can't get it to power on at all. The screen, at least the last time the monitor turned on, is excellent. No fading, no flickering (one pixel out), but the color is wonderful, text sharp, so this isn't a back-lighting problem. I've spoken to two repair shops locally who just said "drop kick it, it's too hard to fix." I have a hard time accepting this solution. Any ideas or suggestions would be welcome. thanks.

The power button on my Dell monitor is permanently stuck in the "off" position. Maybe the spring has failed/come dis-lodged?

My problem is exactly the same as 'grasses' - power switch has gone from erratic to inoperable over past weeks. Has been made to work by moving button sideways in its slot. Can't find exploded diagram to assess the possibility of replacing the faulty part. Address please for diagram and availablity of part - presumably with ~ 3 year lifespan! Iain

When I finally got the power switch to turn on, I just left it on.

My Dell 1905fp monitor now powers up and shuts down with my computer. I unplug the power chord when my laptop computer is disconnected.

Remove the button arm, and drill a hole thru the casing. Use a pin to turn it on.

I replaced an old Malibu 300 watt powerpack with a new digital 300 watt Malibu power pack and when I turn it on it runs for about a miniut and then shuts down. I have 15 11watt light on it, the same as the...

300 watt power pack should have 300 watt load.
You have 165 watt load.
Copy following link for general tips to get Malibu power pack to last longer.

Problem might be the photo eye.
Rotate manual dial to ON position and see if lights turn ON.
Keep in mind the digital power pack has photoeye that is light sensitive, and must be exposed to dark light to activate.
For timed functions. Rotate manual dial until it points at timer. Press clock set function button, and use up-down buttons to set current time. Press timer ON button, and then use up-down to set ON timer. Then press timer OFF button , and use arrow keys to set OFF time.

This product has 1 year limited warranty, contrast with old-type analog power pack with 5-year warranty.
Malibu does not even post a manual on their site, which might have troubleshoot section to illuminate why your system has problem,

I have an Error 2 that happens when trying to scan a document. It makes a clunking noise. How do I fix this? Thanks in advance!

E2 error means is a paper jam.

Solution 1
Turn the printer off, then on again. Sometimes, when Pinter turned on, the position of the wheel is not correct, causing the error E2. By turning off the printer and then turn back, the position of the wheel will return to normal. This way I've ever done and it worked.

Solution 2
You turn the sensor vertically, as opposed to clockwise. By rotating the sensor vertically, roller wheel position to be shifted, so it will return to normal position. Rotate the sensor vertically, until you hear the sound (clak) of the wheel roller.

Sansa clip went dead

Slide the power button on your SanDisk Sansa MP3 player up.

  • 2 Hold the power button on your Sansa in the up position for about 15 seconds. This action serves as a powering down of the Sansa device.
  • 3 Wait for your Sansa MP3 player to restart and let go of the power button. Actions taken during your last operation since powering down normally have been deleted and your player is now reset.

Where is the button to turn the discharge from vertical to horizontal? The manual states to "simply push the positioning button and rotate" - can't seem to locate the button!

Press the positioning button located on pump housing and rotate discharge port to desired position.

Note: the Discharge port will only rotate 1/4 turn.

Cannot raise vertical height after pushing button on back of monitor (button stuck in)

With the monitor in the lowest position, push down slightly on the monitor and push the button in. While holding the button in you should be able to raise the monitor with your other hand. This worked on the one I have.

    Dell 2407WFP power on switch

When the switch is rotated to the correct position, run a piece of sellotape (or a strip of the plastic that comes on top of phone or watch screens etc) over the switch. Nearly invisible, simple, and solves the issue.

Manually Removing Toner for magicolor 2400W

    1.  Hold down the Cancel button for 10 seconds or longer.

    2.  With the Cancel button still held down, also simultaneously hold down the Rotate Toner button for 10 seconds or longer.

    3.  When all LED indicators are blinking rapidly, release both the Cancel and Rotate Toner buttons.

    4.  Then hold down the Rotate Toner button again for another 10 seconds or longer.

    5.  The Cyan toner cartridge moves into the proper position, so it can be removed.

    6.  Remove and/or replace the Toner Cartridge if necessary.

    7.  Open and close the covers. Each time you do this, another toner cartridge moves into the proper position, so it can be removed and/or replaced (in this order: cyan, black, yellow, magenta).
