The Polaroid i835 camera will not take a picture with the SD card inserted. The SD tab is in unlocked position, I've gone through the formatting step, and chose SD as the storage media, and I still get "card protected" on the LCD.

What are you trying to do with the card?
remove the card from the camera,by opening the compartment its in,press and it should pop up/out, then:
if you are trying to wipe the pictures off, then there is a little bit on the side of the card that protects it from being wiped! slide this in the opposite direction, and voila! problem solved

How to remove write-protection on a micro sd card

  1. Connect the microSD card to a computer
Use a memory card reader to connect the microSD card to a computer for formatting. In case you're using an SD card adapter, ensure that the write protection key is in the unlock position.
  2. Locate the card Right-click My Computer, and click Manage. Go to the Disk Management tab on the left pane, and locate your microSD card from the list of available disks.
  3. Format the microSD card Right-click on the microSD card's drive, and click Format. This eliminates all data, including corrupted files that cause write protection in storage devices

My camera wont take pics and keeps saying card protect

Hi kyla04,

This could be as a result of the memory card being right protected by the right protect switch on it.

What you need to solve this problem is remove the memory card out and use the right protect switch and unlock it , you would just require to move the switch from it's position , please find the image below for more assistance.

How do you remove the write-protection on a micro sd card?

Hi

On the right side of the SD card there will be a slide button, slide the button down and it will remove the write protection for your memory card.

Formatting time it shows write protected error

SD cards nad microSD adaptors have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

Removal of write protection

Sounds like you will need to format the internal memory of the camera. This will permanently erase all the data from the memory and then you will be able to use it again. To format the memory: Press the Ok button - right arrow to Mode Menu - down arrow to Card tab - right arrow to card setup - right arrow to format option. You will see format yes or no. Choose Yes and press ok. This will clear the write protect message and the memory can be used again.

I have a stylus 410 when turned on it displays 'write protect'

The memory card is corrupted and the only way to remove the write protect is to format the memory card when it is in the camera. To format the memory card:
Press the green arrow button to go to review mode then press the Ok button
Press the right arrow button to go to Mode Menu
Press the down arrow button to go to the Card tab
Press the right arrow button to go to Card Setup
Press the right arrow button to go to Format option
Here you will see Format Yes or No
Press up arrow to go to Yes and press Ok

The camera will indicate Busy because it is clearing the write protect and erasing all images permanently from the card.
Once completed the card will be able to be used again.

Stylus 600. When I turn camera on a blue screen comes up with a message [xD] Write Protect. What does this mean and how do I make it go away?

In order to remove the message of write protect you will need to format the xD memory card. The card has somehow become corrupted. To format the memory card - press Ok - right arrow to Mode Menu - down arrow to Card tab - right arrow to Card Setup - right arrow to Format - Up arrow to Yes and then press Ok. This will permanently delete all images from the memory card and you will be able to start taking images again.
