Question about Protron PLTV-26 26 in. HD-Ready LCD Television

No Picture but Sound Vivitek 51" DLP

The picture recently went out on my 2 yr old Vivitek DLP. Following the
suggested guidance in the manual I ordered and replaced the lamp module
but still no picture. Your problem solving skills would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same issue but is a Protron PLTV-26 liquid crystal display tv. I can get a half-second view of the screen but then it goes black. Have sound, not picture.

From what I have read further down the page, it looks as if there is no solution for this. Can you tell me what to do other than throwing it out. It is not even 2-years old.

I have a Vivitek RP51HD41-A TV. The TV keeps turning off and on. The color and sound is fine. I have replaced the lamp and this has not fixed the problem.

If its a DLP it may have a color wheel which could be your problem (the colors will change etc)

Color wheels move at high speed and if slow down set will shut down.

The wheel if there will face the lamp. If often if failing will make a high pitched whine or a fan like sound.

I have a vivitek 56 in dlp...it is about 5 yrs old. The picture looks great for a while (1 to 2 hours) then it starts jumping all over with change in colors. It is watchable, buy very enjoyable. Is...

The issue might be with your color wheel, the issues you are having with it matches the symptoms of that specific problem. Something you can also hear a buzzing or humming on the back of the TV, or some kind of vibration if you put your hand on top of it, but the issue with the change of colors and jumping images most likely will be the color wheel. I suggest that you check with a tech before making any decisions about purchasing a part. Hope i could be of help! Any other question don't hesitate in asking.

Most probably the lamp is bad anyways the ballast supply voltage to the lamp and could be also bad, if you hear a noise coming from the back go ahead and replace the lamp. if the lamp is good you just keep it sooner or later you will use
