Thanks very much, shivam...the date-setting problem with my watch is not addressed in the videos, not nearly as technical as those shown, but I really appreciate your assistance.
Please advise me if I should repost again, and/or if this will show up in the thread as another solution thank-you...I'm new to FixYa and not sure about the reposting or responding protocol.
Many thanks again.

The watch should have two position on the crown , first position should be for the date second for the main hands.
be careful not to push the button with the crown pulled out as this may alter the hand settings on the chrono.
Pull the crown of the analog/date Cartier watch and rotate it clockwise or counterclockwise until you see the date advance in the display window at about 1 a.m.
Use the quick date set method by rotating the crown counterclockwise after reaching 1 a.m. until the hands reach 7:30 p.m. Then again rotate the crown clockwise back to 1 a.m. Repeat the procedure until the correct date is displayed.
Adjust the date forward or backward 12 hours if your Cartier watch changes the date at the noon hour.
no because your watch has a eta movement made by the swatch company cartier buy the movement from eta then decorate it and sign the rota with there logo the movement could be 2yrs old before cartier get the watch to retail...ie. sat in the shop window. only cartier could tell you when your watch was manufactured..the srial numbers you provide identify what the movement is using cartiers own code to identify the movement and one is for the the model ie. seatimer..
to set the time and date of cartier watch , full the crown at half setting possition then wind it until the date move push the crown to the normal possition then full the crown twoo times to time setting possition then wind it again until you search the correct time, fush the crown to the normal possition after setting,
There are two positions for the setting crown all the way out is to set time, one click out to set date.To set the date you must first set the time by moving the hands around clockwise until you see the date change(midnight) then continue around to the correct time. Then push crown in on click and set the date
