Question about Apple MacBook 13"White /2.0Ghz Intel Core2 Duo White/2GB (2x1gb)/80GB/SuperDrive (Z0DT) Mac Notebook
Is there a cable I can buy to transfer my old Word documents, music files and photos from my old Gateway to my new Mac? Is it possible to do this because of the operating systems? If I can do it, do I need to download software?
You best bet is to back up the files to an external disk. Then plug this into the new Mac. The disk should show up on the desktop as an external disk. (normally in orange). Navigate to where your files are on the old drive. It is a matter of drag and drop. I would not do any of this Automatically, as suggested when you start your Mac for the first time. Take the opporunity to reorganise life and import manually what you 'really' need.
Hope that helps.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
