My LG LHT874 system is not reading any dvds. Can you please advise on the best course of action. The system is only 3 years old. Should I attempt to utilize a DVD cleaning kit? If not, is it worth repairing?

SOURCE: I, have a LHT874 theater system no sound when watching tv

HI, check if you have to turn up the outputs on your tv or even switch them on,also make sure you are useing the audio outs and not an input then set your system to the same input the cables are pluged into and set sound to prologic 2.
Hope this helps.

Hi my kmx wont start my battery is old its that ok

Check the voltage. Your batery should measure 11 or more volts, maybe up to 13 volts at rest. If is is fewer, you should replace the battery. Potentially, your battery is 10 or more years old. Battery life is typically fewer than 5 years in the best case. Your battery dealer can test your battery and more properly advise you on a course of action to follow.

I turn on the ps3, and it turns on fine. But when I insert a video game disc, I hear the reader start and then stop. It then sends a message that an error occurred at start up. Please advise on course of...

You may have noticed that this has happened over time, and you play video games much more than you play dvds. Here are some steps you may trouble shoot with:
1.Try rebooting the system

2.Try updating the firmware by simply connecting to the internet.
3.If the above solutions did not work unfortunately, your laser diode for reading Game Discs may have burned out. Try taking it to a store, which fixes video games consoles near you. Ask to either replace the laser diode, the whole disc reader all together, or to try pot calibrating the diode.

PS2 wont play DVD movies!

Hi. It seems that you might have an old version of the PS2.

The original PS2's had a problem with the laser that read CDs and DVDs, often failing, creating problems with reading DVDs and in rare cases, CDs.

Unfortunately, the class action lawsuit filed against Sony is too old to get yours fixed for free, but there are ways to attempt to fix the laser yourself, if you would rather not send it in to Sony.

Good Luck!
