Because of your printers' corrupt software or hardware, you might face installation errors. To reslove this issue, you need to reinstall the drivers and software. Make sure that you get only the most compatible driver for installation.
You first need to check if the printer is compatible with Vista.
Then, if it is,Install the printer on one of the machines. Once it has installed, go into printers and right click on the printer itself, then select Sharing or Sharing and Security and allow the printer to be shared. You may have to switch on file and printer sharing before you can share the printer.
Then, go onto the other machine and go to install printer.
In the dialog window that opens, choose network printer and then search.
When the printer appears in the search area, select it and choose install. The system will then download the appropriate drivers from one machine onto the other through the network and install the printer. This assumes that you have both machines connected to your home network and file and printer sharing is turned on, on both machines. To use the printer over the network, the machine the printer is connected too MUST be turned on.
You need to go to printers and faxes. Set up a new networked printer. Take the drivers off of your vista machine, because by using those drivers, vista is thinking that the printer is physically hooked up tot hat computer.

Windows Explorer has some bugs in their browsers that may not work on certain copiers. It is best to use Firefox or Safari instead to do any administration work on your copier.
