how can the error FO be fixed and the beeping to stop

  • qunq Sep 09, 2008

Our oven gave the same F0 error message. And all the keys did not work. After we turned off the power and turned on power again, we hold bake and brill keys for 3 second, it changed to flash mode. But all the keys still not work. We used the oven a few weeks ago, it worked well and we did not do any thing afterwards.

We have the dual oven. The F0 code comes on both sides of the display, indicating it's in effect for both ovens. Only the cancel key seems to work. If we turn power off for a minute (min 30 seconds), we sometimes get the oven to reset for a few minutes up to a few days.

The tech manual says the problem is either: the control unit or the keypad (i.e. replace them). Another group says the problem is the keypad or corroded connection (ribbon connection) and to use rubbing alcohol on the connector. Unfortunately, the connection did not improve after cleaning, so I'm about to purchase a keypad. After that, a control unit.... Any help out there as I would think the solution would be simpler...

We had the same problem. We had to contact GE and have someone replace the panel. It was a few hundred dollars.

I am getting an F0 error code on my GE JTP15. It was working and then just shut-off. Then the error code appeared. I removed power for 30 minutes but the oven control did not reset.

F0
Stuck touch pad Usually means that either the touch pad or the oven control
(also called clock or ERC) is defective and needs to be replaced. If this fault
code cannot be cancelled, replace the oven control (also called clock or ERC),
touch pad, or both.

I'm getting a periodic beeping signal and an "FO" error message from my lower oven. What is it telling me? The oven is a dual electric. Model number 326B1230P001. Thanks. Stanley Hochman

Hi!! Failure Code Fault Code Description Solution F0 Stuck touch pad Usually means that either the touch pad or the oven control (also called clock or ERC) is defective and needs to be replaced. If this fault code cannot be cancelled, replace the oven control (also called clock or ERC), touch pad, or both.
Although the manual recommends to replace the touch pad, try unplugging the unit form the wall for a couple of minutes to reset it. It works most of the time.

GE Profile Performance Spectra Range error code F0

F0 - F1 - F7 Stuck keypad may mean relay is turned on. Determine if problem is with the Key Panel or Control by:
1. Pushing CLEAR/OFF pad.
2. Disconnecting Ribbon Cable from control and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if Code recurs

If code recurs, problem is in the control. Replace control.

If code does not recur, problem is with the Key Panel.

F0 error code on ge profile oven

Could be a stuck keypad. Try pressing all pads at random several times each to clear it.
If that does not work the ERC(clock) must be replaced.

you can also put a piece of paper between the ribbon cable where it joins up before the connector. It has been reported that the cable will short in this area. Try that before spending more money since most of the F-codes appear to be cable related.

Hi,

To my understanding error code F1 would indicate a faulty control board, possibly thermistor control. The only recourse is to have this replaced.

This of course would require a fair familiarity of electrical/electronic components/circuitry and safety procedures, use of a DVM and possibly a soldering iron. It would be to your added advantage access to a service manual or at the very least a schematic diagram with voltage readings. Should you be uncomfortable performing a DIY (do-it-yourself), perhaps your best bet would then be to seek the services of a qualified professional.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
