May be it is a keylogger which is attacked to your system so you couldnt able to type ...
or may be the bios is unable to detect the keyboard ..
once you remove the keyboard from the port and put it back again that may work have a check with this ...
or the wire might have broke down just have a check ...
if all are right then it s the keylogger which is attacked to your system ...
so you must format the system i think your keyboard will work at the time of bios ... so can format the drive containing OS from booting with the windows xp boot cd .....
after formatting you can install the new copy of it ....
