Open the taskmanager and click the processes tab and look for these processes and end them if they are running.

  • helpsvc.exe
  • helphost.exe
  • helpctr.exe

  • Close your taskmanager and go to start, run and type CMD you will now have the command box open you will need to type each of these lines and hit enter after.

    net stop helpsvc
    cd /d %windir%\pchealth\helpctr
    rd packagestore /s /q
    rd installedskus /s /q
    cd binaries
    start /w helpsvc /svchost netsvcs /regserver /install
    start /w helpsvc /register

    The line "start /w helpsvc /svchost netsvcs /regserver /install
" is what reinstalls the help and support service and may take a little while to run.

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Problem with lisenting audio on my laptop

    Hi there,

The connections in your speakers are waring, this is due to opening and closing the laptop as the wires go through the screen.

You can take it to a repair shop and they will repair it, or just vist the compaq website and try updating the sound drivers.

    hope this helps

    Resetting the password

Remove the battery . Short the grounding strips made for this purpose on the mother board,or the battery terminals,if you can't find the strips.  Reinsert the battery and the pass word will be gone.

I want to know if you have a service center in manila, philippines because my loptop needs to be fix

jack.. you may be better off contacting customer service for your laptop.. they may very likely have a service center you can take your laptop to in your country... I believe fixya is only internet based.

but who knows.. i maybe wrong..

you can probably ask fix ya directly by writing or geting in contact with fixya directly going to the fixya contact webpage:

I have start problem in my hp laptop....i go to the service centre . But they say that it can not repair by them.If my laptop cant repair in service centre i will go to the consumer court...

On your way t consumer court, think about this:

    1. Who sold you the computer?
    2. Did they guarantee you it's functionality? (Warranty?)
    3. Is the warranty written on receipt or implied?
    4. Is it a used computer or a new one?
    5. How long have you owned the computer?
    6. Who are you going to sue at the court, the Service center, or the manufacturer or the person who sold it to you?
    7. What did the service center tell you IS WRONG WITH THE COMPUTER?

May be none of those people owe you anything, so it might be best to ask for help here to find out what you need to replace in your laptop. If it's too expensive to repair, perhaps getting a working computer might cheaper.

Let us know what you think, okay.
    Good luck.
