Your are probably missing a driver. Or a wrong driver is installed on your pc click on the start bottom in your windows and search for device manager if you have a tab called other devices in device manager you are missing a driver if that is the case run lenovo system update on your machine and it will find and install the right driver for you.

My audio driver is not working (error 10)

The Windows error "This device cannot start. Code 10? or "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" is a hardware error that most commonly means that you have a bad, missing, or incompatible device driver. So, for example, "This device cannot start. Code 10 in audio driver" means that you have a bad or missing or incompatible driver for your sound card.

I suggest trying an update, or if you just updated it roll back the driver.

There is no sound

To solve that problem you must check the following:

1. Check the device driver in your audio by clicking:
* right click my computer
* click properties
* device manager
If you can see missing drivers with a yellow question mark that's the missing device driver install the
driver for that device.

2. For other solutions you can use the software named Driver Checker it will check your PC devices and missing drivers and it will also download the missing drivers and updates.

No audio after reinstall. Uininstalled and reinstalled chipset and drivers (in that order), went to services and disabled and reinabled audio,uninstalled and reinstalled modem, did all this in safe mode...

Have you actually gone into your sound and audio devices in the control panel and made sure that all the sound devices are correct and the volumes are up.

Also, back in the devices menu, you could try the option "Roll Back Driver"

No audio output device is installed

Your audio driver may be missing or corrupt. Go to the device manager and look under the audio devices. If it doesn't list your audio device or has exclamation mark (!) next to your audio driver, then you're missing the driver.

If you see your audio device listed, then either your driver files are corrupt or your audio device is damaged.

In either case, go to Toshiba homepage, search for the audio device driver related to your laptop's model. Download it and install to see if that corrects the problem. If it doesn't correct your problem, it's possible your Southbridge chip may be defective, in which case, not much you can do.

When i reinstall my window it seem that the sound went missing

You can try going to IBM's site and downloading multiple sound card drivers for other models within 2 years of yours. They miss and match devices alot like Dell and HP does. Extract the drivers in seperate folders on your desktop and point the browse to one folder at a time until you kind the correct driver. I believe IBM will take your call free for issues like these even out of warrenty period.

Sound card dosen't work (it is soundmax)

you can get this driver. You might have to look a bit for it. The driver will come from Microsoft though, not from Asus. I have several ASUS motherboards running windows 7. In most cases if you go to the devide manager, right click the "missing driver" for HD audio, Windows 7 has usually gone out downloaded the file by itself. But if you have to look for it, go to the microsoft website and search for HD audio in their downloads section.
