Control setting not lighting up anymore

After 1 year, the control setting is not lighting up anymore. Actually, it lights up once a week, without notice. So that tells me the light is not burned, but why doesn't it light up all the time....

The refrigerator freezes everything in the food compartment. This is the second year in a row.

it sounds like you have a bad thermostat control or the damper is not shutting off when it is suppose to... the unit actually works by freezer side cooling first and then air is pushed over into the fresh food side .there should be a control that sets the temperature and a small damper door that opens and closes based off of temperature as well.. one of the two are not telling the refrigerator side to shut down.... hope this helps you out./....repost with anymore questions if i see you on here i will try and help.... lg. servicer/ and appliance repair specialist for 18 years

Refridgerator and Freezer Not Cooling (2 year old fridge)

Some of these had problems with the door light switches between the doors. They also control the fans. The top and bottom both have fans in back. Try opening top door and holding door light switch in. Wait for a couple minutes to see if fan comes on. Try with freezer too. If not coming on may need switch.

I have a whirlpool WRF40 ix all refrigerator. The problem is that the compressor trips at the high cooling settings (4 and 5) starts again and then trips immediately again. It only runs at 3 or lower....

WHIRLPOOL WRF40 Solution to this problem!!! very easy ----I assume you have a problem with the control board switching on and of erratic when you pass setting 3 on the LED display, the designers of this fridge left the calculator at home that day, ask a technician to replace the Resistors 5, 6 & 7 (330 OHM 1/4 watt) on your electronic control board with 680 OHM 1/4 watt. This would solve the problems with this board, the LEDs will not be as bright as they were but still highly visible. Questions? deon@electro-web.co.za

How do use self clean service?

CAUTION: SHOULD AN OVEN FIRE OCCUR,
CLOSE THE OVEN DOOR AND TURN OFF THE
OVEN. IF THE FIRE CONTINUES, USE A FIRE
EXTINGUISHER. DO NOT PUT WATER OR FLOUR
ON THE FIRE. FLOUR MAY BE EXPLOSIVE.
To set the controls for a self-clean cycle:
For satisfactory results use a 2 hour self-clean cycle for
light soils and a 3 hour cycle for average to heavy
soils.
1. Be sure the clock shows the correct time of day.
2. Press Clean. "— — —" appears in the display.
3. Press the Up Arrow until "3:00" appears in the
display for a 3 hour cycle, or press the Down Arrow
until "2:00" appears in the display for a 2 hour cycle.
4. As soon as the Up Arrow or Down Arrow is
released, "CLN" appears in the display.
5. As soon as the controls are set, the motor driven
lock will begin to close automatically and the "LOCK"
indicator light will flash. DO NOT open the door while
the light is flashing (it takes about 15 seconds for the
oven door to lock).
6. The "LOCK" light will glow until the cleaning cycle is
completed or cancelled, and the oven
temperature has cooled.
When the self-clean cycle is completed:
1. The time of day or “END” will appear in the display
window and the “Clean” and "LOCK" light will continue
to glow.
2. Once the oven has cooled down for about 1 HOUR
and the "LOCK" light has gone out, the oven door can
be opened.
3. If “END” is in the display and the “Clean” indicator
remains on, press Clear/Off. The time of day will
appear in the display.
NOTE: When the oven is cool, wipe away any residue
or powdered ash with a damp cloth or paper towel.
Stopping or interrupting a self-cleaning cycle:
If it becomes necessary to stop or interrupt a selfcleaning
cycle.
1. Press Clear/Off.
2. Once the oven has cooled down for about 1 HOUR
and the "LOCK" light has gone out, the oven door can
be opened.
3. Restart the self-clean cycle once all conditions have
been corrected.
How the ES 200 operates:
CAUTION: NEVER ATTEMPT TO REMOVE EITHER
THE BAKE OR BROIL ELEMENT WITHOUT DISCONNECTING
ELECTRICAL POWER FROM THE
RANGE. ELECTRICAL POWER IS CONNECTED
TO THE ELEMENTS WHENEVER ELECTRICAL
POWER IS CONNECTED TO THE RANGE.
The ES 200 electronic oven control system is made up
of three parts that control the bake and broil elements,
and the locking of the door in the self-clean cycle.
1. Electronic oven control.
2. Oven temperature sensor.
3. Oven door lock mechanism.
