If it's a BIOS password, ask the person that put it in. OR, contact the the Laptop Manufacturer for a one-time BIOS password.

Amy pc asks about adminisrative password

Well this is because it is password protected. If it is asking for a password in order to go into the BIOS, this can be reset by flashing the BIOS (call Dell and ask how). If it is a windows administrative password it is asking for, the default is blank (meaning that u can just press enter).

I bought this toshiba satellite m20 in an auction. its asking for an administrator password. HOw can i remove the password?

Is the BIOS asking for a password or is Windows asking for a password? If it's the BIOS then you might never get the password off. Seldom can you remove the password from a laptop's BIOS without already knowing the password. If it's Windows that's asking for the password, then try reinstalling your operating system. This will get rid of the password and anything else that may be lurking around in the computer from the previous owner.

Toshiba M45 S165 asking for password

If you are talking about Windows asking for a password and not the bios asking for a password. I have run into this problem before. If you can boot into safe mode you should see an admin user with the regular user /s. Click on the admin user hopefully it doesnt have a password or it has one you know then click start, click on control panel, if you dont have your system set for classic mode click it on the upper left corner of the control panel window, then click User accounts, click on the user you want to remove the password from. There whould be a choice for remove password or change password. Remove the password from there and then restart the computer. If that doesnt work then go here http://icompute.info/windows_xp_password.htm and check out the tips.
Hope this helps...

Resetting the password

There are two places when you may be asked for a password - can you please clarify which one it is.
  1. The BIOS password which will ask you for a password BEFORE you see the Windows loading screen
  2. The Windows password, which will ask you for the password after the computer has started, but before you can see your desktop.
There is a reasonably easy solution for both of these.

I'm not clear on your description, so here goes:

If it showed the Toshiba start screen, then asked for a password, then your hard drive is password protected.

If it showed the Toshiba screen, then asked for password, and you entered it, and then it goes "insert disk", then your hard drive is passworded and wiped.

If the first thing it does is ask for a password, then the password is in the BIOS.
