Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
Greetings,
I have been using my PS3 as a media server recently and I have discovered that it will pick and choose which .avi format files that it will recognize and play and even when those that it won't play are converted over to .wmv which it states that it will play it still won't play the converted files either! I have the latest software upgrades on the system as of this message. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks but where EXACTLY are you suggesting that I look? I went through everything available in the menu and I could not find anything like what you are suggesting I do. The closest I could find is a setting to turn whether or not I can watch WMV on or off. I went down the whole list line for line even when I knew that there would not be anything there of value to me such as in the music column. Thanks in advance for any help given.

Look in the programe menu on the ps3 and see if it set to only setin one file format amd change to all to play

I Have a PS3, and trying to use it to play WMV files and it wont do it. It opens to the first frame and stays in a paused mode. I enabled WMA playback in the systems settings (which the manual says you must do to play WMV files) and It still won't work
