Sounds like he had his finger on the *Star button and didn't realize it would lock the phone. Hold down on the *Star button until it unlocks. I hope this will help you....

We can provide remote unlocking codes for 99% of Vodafone-UK handsets. There is no need to send the handset to us, all we need is the IMEI (serial number) of the handset which can viewed by pressing *#06# on the handset keypad. In order for you to unlock ur fone u most likely need to call the company that your fone is with and let them unlock it. If they cant unlock it then you need to think about buying a new fone. If this doesnt help you out I am sooo srry but I tried my best.
