Printer paper is jamming and code 5100 flashes

try this
1. hold RESUME then press & hold POWER
2. release RESUME, then press it twice, the light should go amber then green again.
3. you're now in service mode (you can release POWER now)

presses of the RESUME button. To confirm, press POWER once.

Light flashing alternate green and yellow.

Either you are out of ink or you have a paper jam.

Go to canonusa.com, look up your printer to find the manual which explains the different indicator lights and what to do when you see them.

Good luck!

I have a acanon pixma mp210.. amber alarm light

Error 5100 is Carriage error.Possible problems in:
- Carriage unit
- Timing **** strip film
- Logic board assembly
- Carriage motor
First, make sure there is no paper jam anywhere in the machine.. look inside, rear, where the paper tray (output) is, etc to see if you find any shreds or torn paper that may have gotten stuck and you didn't see.Look carefully in the zone of Purge unit, using flashlight in the right side on printer. If this not help your printer need service.

Had paper jam. Now PIXMA IP5000 shows service error 6A00 and light alternates between green and orange 12 times. Have tried unplugging, turning off, etc.

Print head might be stuck. Try opening the lid and sliding the cartridge tray over to the left. Check to make sure there is no piece of paper left jamming it. While you are at it, clean the base pad by dabbing with a piece of paper towel to remove excess ink. You may also want to remove the Print head itself and then reattach. Make sure there is no gunk buildup. Hope this helps.

Printer power light keeps flashing green and yellow

Depending on how many - 5 orange = print head malfunction - not fitted correctly or more than likley the ribbin cable is broken or burnt out. £50 for new one.....

Sorry!

Paper kam that wont clear

Canon Pixma IP5000 kept giving the blinking yellow light 3 times. Could not find anything. I tried the manila folder forcing a manila folder in on power up through the top feeder as suggested for another Canon Pixma. The folder kind of jammed and pushed it back out of the feeder. And out came a small piece of postit. Couldn't see it so it was somewhere inaccessible and unviewable. The bigger paper was enough to loosen and expel it with the manila folder. I'm guessing the people who put the higher mil (thicker) paper through, clear what ever is causing the problem even if they don't see what is ejected or forced out. Don't know if this will work for you but it thats what happened and the printer works fine now.
