Okay, so I got this computer about 6 months ago, and I am trying to download this game. Well, to get the game to work you have to have DirectX 3D (Geforce2, ATI Radeon 7500). At the bottom of the screen there was a "related drivers" section. I went through a few downloads of the things but i couldn't get the drivers or whatever to properly install. I don't know what is wrong. Do I need a new VGA cord or do I need to buy some kind of expensive driver? And about the video card... is that in the head of the VGA cord or in the computer itself?

It can be a lot of things, First what's is your system specs (CPU,Graphic card,HDD), Second What's is your power supply (how many watts). If your graphic card is too powerfull for your power supply the graphic card will burn.
For checking your system specs you can download cpuid-z or go to this website to know if your computer can run the game
http://www.evga.com/support/drivers/ Download the drivers you need, and install them manually in the Device Manager.
In Windows 7, goto the Device Manager (click on Start, right click on My Computer, left click on Properties, click on Device Manager) Look for your video cards, click on the + to see which ones are installed.
Once you have the new drivers installed, you may have to uninstall the integrated graphics drivers to force Window to use the new card.
To make a long story short, the answer is no. Games that require 64mb VGA won't work with your hardware. drivers or software won't fix that only a hardware upgrade will do it. Plus s3 brand cards are notorious for bad driver support.
It all depends what kind of games you wish to play, you can probably play all the older games like Quake or Half-Life or older than 1997 just fine on your system with that video card. But you won't be able to play almost any of the newer 3d games out there. If you want to play new games like Battlefield 2 for example, you would at least need a new Nvidia or ATI brand video card on a brand new computer.
Problems with this kind of "PC Freeze" or Hang Up when oppening games or 3D accelerated applications are you dont know what part of your PC is failing... many of this problems are very hard to fix... first of all it might be a power supply problem.. take note that it gives the proper current for your pc to work, therefore a failing PSU will make your PC freeze... another one is your motherboard, if you have a faulty motherboard it might make your pc freeze... this might be a video card problem too... maybe your video card is overheating or it can also have conflict with your built in VGA try disabling your Built in VGA... try cleaning your pc with dust and try to run it again... and last is your sound card... it might have conflicts on your onboard sound chip... try disabling it at your BIOS... as ive told you its complicated because you will never be sure what part of your pc is causing the problem... and also check if your pc is overheating...
top 5 problems are 1. Power Supply is Failing 2. Video Card is overheating 3. Faulty Motherboard 4. Your PC is overheating 5. Hardware conflicts
i wish you good luck and i hope my reply helped... :)
