You can get an universal dc adapter from most big box retailers/ electronics stores. however given the age of your modem- you may see if AT&T would be able to replace the entire modem with a more recent modem

My 2wire has the power light red and the ethernet green and th wireless solid green and the dsl off and the internet off....what can i do

I had the same problem on the Gateway 2701HG-B supplied from ATT for use with their DSL service. From searching the web, I learned these variety of modems apparently have an expiration date on the power cord at about 18 mos to 2 years. Mine is almost exactly at 2 yrs.

I replaced the power cord and now it works fine. You can order the OEM replacement from att e-store or try Radio Shack for a universal cord.

There is no power to my router. how do i know if i need a new power cord or if it is defective unit. 2wire 1800HG older model

You can measure the power cord voltage with a voltmeter. The specifications, and voltage output are on the transformer, or modem body. If you don't have a voltmeter, you can take the power supply into Best Buy, Radio Shack, or any computer shop, and they'll measure it for you. If the voltage is ok on the power supply, chances are you have a bad modem, in which case you'd be better off getting a new one. Hope this helps.

Why won't my 2wire modem stay on?

maybe its either cable issue or modem itself
>> try to hard reset it...unplug first the power cord to the power outlet then press for 5 seconds the reset button(usually at the back of it)...then let it turn on by plugging the power cord to the power outlet...then it should be working fine...if not check with your modem tech support and ask if there is any outage or check if it is already need to replace the modem( if it is already over a years)

I have a 2 wire AT&T modem. The modem power

Try to replace the power cord with a same voltage adapter from Radio Shack or any local electronic store. If you search FixYa using key work "2Wire Modem", you'll see a whole bunch of people having the exactly same problem with their 2Wire modems! I fixed mine (all three of them) by simply replacing the power cords!

I believe that the local ethernet portal is damaged and that contact is unreliable. I fail to connect but then pushing the wire sometimes makes it work. Unit isprobably a couple of years old. This is true...

Before you have your provider swap it out check to see if changing out the wire from the modem to your computer does the trick, Ethernet cords can go bad or have bad ending terminals. A two year old modem probably needs replaced though, it should be no cost to you depending on your internet provider.
