This link,, provides exploded view imagery, belt routing diagrams, parts imagery and function, parts ordering and shipping information, error code details, just about anything you need to get your appliance up and running again. Just follow the links to navigate through the site.

You will need to enter the model number stamped on the manufacturers product information data tag, located on the unit, and not in the User’s Manual. to access your product information.

Here are some common solutions to help resolve the issue with your appliance.
Clicking on the underlined links will take you directly to that page.
Very rarely, a voltage issue could cause this symptom, but you should rule out the other possibilities first, unless you have a volt-ohm meter, then a quick check of the voltage MAY rule out these other issues.
This could be a motor or drive system issue. To test for a motor problem, you will need to remove the drum belt. See exploded view diagram link below, for disassembly.

If the motor fails to start, replace the motor, See link below.

If the motor starts, then you will have to look for:
1. Blower obstruction
2. Rear drum rollers.
3. Idler pulley
4. Drum belt, See link below

5. Front tub glide bearing and seal assembly. See link below.

Whirlpool dryer makes a buzzing sound whey start button is pushed. sometimes it will turn on for a few seconds but most of the time it just buzzes.

The buzzing is probably the relay trying to start the motor. See if the motor has a capacitor, have it checked. If the motor is all clogged with lint, the start/run switch can get blocked. Clean out all that lint with a vacuum cleaner.
Check the tub bearing, and make sure the drum spins freely.

My Roper dryer heats up but does not turn when I push the start button. What would cause the dryer to not spin?

one is the belt may be broken or have slipped off the pulley.the door switch could also be bad. try and hold the door open and depress the door switch at the same time someone is pushing/turning the start button and then try to rotate the drum be hand and see if it will turn. the motor could have alot of lint build up and cause the motor not to turn.

Dryer won't start. has power, lights are on, when I push start I just get a loud humming sound.

Try to turn the tub by hand, if it will not move or is real hard to turn, your motor may be locked down. They usually make a humming sound when you try to start.

Dryer won't start

Try 2 things to see what has happened.

1st listen for a click from the door switch just as the door opens or closes. (No click = no start)

2nd reach in and rotate the drum by hand just a little bit making sure you hear the motor also turn. Then try to restart the dryer.

If rotating the drum enabled you to start the dryer the motor switch is sticking.

Roper dryer by maytag press star button here noise but does not start?

you will nead someone to help you to see if you have a bad moter.first open door, with your right hand push in on the door switch.hold the switch in ,have someone push the start switch in and at the same time with your left hand turn the dryer drum clock wise,if the dryer starts than you have a bad moter.the cost of the moter would be 1/3off the cost off a new unit.

Whirlpool lgr4634eqo makes a buzzing noise when trying to start

Try holding the door switch lever in and turning the drum hard by hand. It sounds like you have a start switch out in the motor.
