"If your lock is opening on every turn of the knob or lever, except upon entering a code, this may be a ZERO CODE. Before attempting to remove the lock from the door, refer to the troubleshooting procedures outlined at bottom of this document for a zero code symptom/solution

Solution: Follow the procedure for changing a combination except omit step 3 (do not enter
the existing combination)."

I excerpted the above from the full instructions on how to change the code. If you don't have them, got to this link:

http://www.kaba-ilco.com/access_control/literature/literature_grid_mechanical_pushbutton_locks.aspx?id=13

and go across from L1000 to the last column, "Tips".
When you hover your mouse over PDF, two choices will appear; left click on the upper one, "Changing the code/..." to download it.
The download will be a PDF file format. If you are unable to open it, you will need to download and install Adobe Reader on your computer. There is a link (Get Adobe Reader) at the top right of the literature grid.
When you do get the download open, you will have the stepwise procedure and illustrations necessary-but don't forget to omit Step 3, if you believe that you have the ZERO code problem!

Good luck--and please provide feedback if this helps!

My safe, a Cathedral EA15 Will not lock. Any suggestions people?

Instructions
  1. 1

Enter your code on the keypad located on the front of the safe. Some electronic digital safes require you to input a special character like "#" before and after your code. The safe should either beep, have a LED turn green, or display "OPEN" if you have correctly entered the code.

  2. 2

Turn the handle to the right within five seconds of correctly entering the code. If you wait too long, the safe will lock and you will have to enter your code ag

3

Open the safe with a key. Use your emergency key that came with the safe to open it if you forgot the code or if the batteries have died. Remove the key cover from either the handle or the control panel to reveal the lock.

  1. 1

Enter your code to open the safe.

  2. 2

Place the electronic digital safe into code reset mode. On some models you need to hold the last digit of the code or press the "*" button to get into code reset mode. Other safes require you to open them and press a small red button on the inside of the door.

  3. 3

Enter your new code on the keypad and press "#" to finish. Some safes may require you to press "*" or a letter to finish the code. If the safe requires it, enter the new code again to confirm that you entered it correctly.

  1. 1

Use your code to open the electronic digital safe's door.

  2. 2

Locate and remove the battery cover on the inside of the door.

  3. 3

Replace the used batteries with new ones. For most safes, this will require two or four AA batteries.

  4. 4

Test the batteries. Use your code while the door is open to test the batteries before closing the safe.

How do I change the combination on my Unican 1000 keyless lock? thx john

The door must be open.
On models with the passage feature, make sure the passage feature is disengaged: turn knob or key should be in vertical position (A) (see figure 1).
1. Insert the DF-59 control key (B) into the combination change plug
assembly (
C) and unscrew the cylinder by turning the key
c
ounterclockwise. Remove the combination change plug to gain access to the combination change sleeve (see figure 1).
2. Turn the outside knob/lever once clockwise (all the way, until it stops) then release. The latch should not retract (see figure 4).
3. Enter the existing combination. On new installations, use the factory- set combination: depress 2 and 4 simultaneously, (release), then 3
(r
elease). You should feel a slight click as each button is depressed.
4. Insert the spanner wrench as shown in figure 2 to engage the combina- tion change sleeve (A). Gently turn the spanner wrench clockwise to the stop position (a slight click should be felt), then turn the spanner wrench counter-clockwise to the stop position (A) (see figure 3). Remove the spanner wrench.
5. Turn the outside knob/lever once clockwise all the way until it stops, then release. The latch should not retract (see figure 4).
6. Choose your new combination, write it down, then enter the new combination-depress buttons carefully (a slight click should be felt as each button is depressed).
Note: You can use one button or all five for a combination, but each button can only be used once. You can depress two or more buttons simultaneously as a step in the combination.
7. Turn the outside knob/lever clockwise once, all the way, until it stops, hold in position and make sure the latch is retracted (see figure 5).
R
elease the knob/lever.
Note: If your lock is opening on every turn of the knob or lever, except upon entering a code, this may be a ZERO CODE. Before attempting to remove the lock from the door, refer to the troubleshooting procedures outlined at bottom of this document for a zero code symptom/solution.

How to unlock a cathedral electronic safe ea25

After opening the electronic safe (with the pre-set factory code of 159B) locate the small red button on the
inside of the door near the hinge.

2. Press the red button and then release it, you will hear a beep. DO NOT SHUT THE DOOR UNTIL YOU HAVE CONFIRMED THAT YOUR NEW SECURITY CODE HAS BEEN ENTERED CORRECTLY.
3. With the door open, enter your own personal security code, which can be 3- 8 digits long, and confirm your new code by pressing the letter “B” on the electronic touch pad. Before you close the door, try the new security code to make sure the lock release the knob so you can turn it and retract the live action locking bolts.
If the code fails, go through steps 1-3 again. If the code works successfully, then you should lock the safe. When you open the safe in the future enter the security code you have set followed by the letter “B” and turn the knob.

If the incorrect security code is entered 3 times you will have an automatic lockout for 20 seconds before you can try your code again. If the incorrect security code is entered 3 additional times there will be a 5- minute lockout before the code can be tried again.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT
This safe uses 4- AA batteries. Under normal use, batteries will last about 1 year. When the battery is low, a red light will come on warning you that the battery is low. To test the batteries, enter your security code. If the batteries are low the red light located in the middle of the top of the keypad will start to flash.

To replace the batteries, open the safe door with your security code and turn the knob. Push the batteries cover plate, which is located on the back of the door, and replace the old batteries.

YOU MUST PROGRAME YOUR SECURITY CODE AFTER YOU REPLACE THE BATTERIES. SEE STEPS 1- 3 UNDER “ENTERING YOUR SECURITY CODE”.
TROUBLE KEY
A “Trouble key” has been provided in case you forget or lose your security code. Remove the small central panel from the front of the faceplate. Insert the key and turn it counter clockwise. Then turn the knob on the door towards the right. This will manually open your safe. If you lose your key, you may purchase a replacement key by referencing the serial number located under the central panel by the lock.
MAINTENANCE FOR KEY AND ELECTRONIC SAFE
If the door of the safe starts to rub on the door frame, open the door per the instructions above. By the door hinges you will find a threaded stem. Use an Allen wrench to tighten the threaded stem. This will help realign the door and give you trouble free access to the contents of your safe.
