Printer Not Registering New Cartridge

The printer "thinks" there's no cartridge installed. But I've just opened a new one and put it in. Still, I get the message "Print cartridge missing, install a new cartridge."

    These are not original to the printer, but they are all genuine Dell cartridges. I finally got one to work. Is it common to have cartridges that are "duds," that the printer simply won't recognize?

    I have the same problem. I put in a new ink cartrage and it doesn't work. I have 2 Dell 810 printers that don't work.

Try installing the original cartridges u got with the printer & reseating the power cable assembly....make sure u hav removed the tape frm the cartridge....

    yes, there r some cartridges tht wld giv u this it happens jst once in a while....



I have the same problem and I tried a new cartridge though the cartridge I had was brand new and it still did not work so i had to go and buy a new printer.

Printer not accepting new black ink cartridge

put that cartridge in and perform a head cleaning process, and allignment... follow the procedure (2 or 3 times if needed) and in the end, shut down the printer, disconnect usb cable (both end), then wait for some time, aprox. 20 sec. and then put both end in again, turn printer on and wait for ready signal or some sort of confirmation that all is ok... If not, replace or update the printer driver and software, or reinstall all printer software.

your only option it to replace it with a new one . printer mfg's have chipped the cartridges and they can not be reused.unless the chip is recoded as new .

My Lexmark x8350 has suddenly come up with Cartridge Error, Error #1203. I've followed all the remove cartridge, power off, power on, reinstall steps, but no good. I think it's the colour...

Hi Alan I think it is the cartridge that is causing your issue but I cant promise that it is.I can tell you from many years experience it very rarely is an issue with the printer breaking it is 99% of the time inferior consumables causing printers to fail, and sometimes wrecking printers so even when the customer does use good consumables it is too late and the damage is done, but we can't be sure of anything unless we start with basics and get 100% brand new Original Equipment Manufacturers carts (OEM) and stick them in. (no I don't work for Lexmark;)

Don;t worry my friends we are here to solve your problem, Basically that problem is came when your cartridge is low or not fix the properly, Switch off your printer and plug out the power code,open the front side cartridge door, pull the cartridge and check the cartridge level, if the level in low then change the cartridge and put eh new cartridge.

This error message appears on the printer screen when the printer thinks the wrong toner cartridge is installed. To clear it or identify a service requirement, follow the steps below. NOTE: If you succeed in resolving the problem at any stage during the procedure, you not need to perform the remaining steps.
  1. Open the top front cover of the printer. If the display DOES NOT read Close cover or Insert cartridge, the 32 error is not caused by the toner cartridge and printer service will be required to fix the problem.

  2. Make sure the correct toner cartridge is installed for this printer model.
    1. Check Lexmark for a list of compatible cartridges for your printer.
    2. If the wrong toner cartridge is installed, remove it and install the correct one.
  3. If the correct toner cartridge is installed, it may not be seated correctly. To ensure that this is not the cause of the error, do the following:
    1. Turn off the printer.
    2. Reseat the toner cartridge.
    3. Close the lid.
    4. Power the printer back on and check the display.
  4. If reseating the toner cartridge does not clear the error message and the error started as soon as you installed this particular toner cartridge, the cartridge may be broken. You can check this as follows:
    1. Power off the printer and then reinstall the old cartridge. (You can also try a different new cartridge to see if that clears the error.)
    2. If the error does disappear, the problem may lie with this cartridge. Please contact the point of purchase, especially if the cartridge is brand new out of the box.
  5. If the error cannot be cleared by putting in a new toner cartridge or one that is known to be working, the printer may require service to fix the problem.
