Question about Systemax Computers & Internet
I have a Systemax Laptop (SYS8089P). It suddenly shutdown while I was watching a video on www.youtube.com Ever since then, the computer is unable to boot up. I cannot even select the safe mode or enter setup screen. The computer starts when the Power key is pressed, but restarts again after displaying the windows screen for a few seconds. I want to restore computer to factory settings, but I do not know the short-cut keys. This is a refurbished laptop, so I do no have teh Microsoft XP CD or any manual. Please advise. Thank you very much in advance.
Hi im wesley. ok to restore to factory settings go to your bios witch is when you boot up and press delete to enter setup thwn at the bottom of the screen it will say like F5 for default settings press that button and it will reset if it doesnt work open the computer up and take the power out and take the battery out for bout 10 minutes and then place it back in along with the power and it will reset. you might have to format your hard drive because it might be a virus that keeps rebooting your computer i had the same problem once.

Tips for a great answer:

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty
One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive
Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA
the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they are probably old and faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error
hope this helps
