Sorry I clicked the wrong question and made it premium. Here is my original question:

Anyone know where i can get a replacement PCB for a seagate st38011a. Specs as follows:

    Config dza-10
    Rev2
    Firmware 3.06

I ordered one off ebay but it was a "rev0" and didn't work. Now i cant find ANY.

    Thanks

  • Damian LAng Jul 17, 2008

Sorry this is not a PCB but a full HDD. I do not need this. It also doesn't state any specs. There is 3 firmware revisions and 2 pcb revisions that i know of. Thanks though i would have risked it until i saw the price lol.

Sorry i should have posted more information. I am aware of of this.I don't expect it to be easy. That option is also acceptable for me.

Hello, check out this webpage i found

    http://www.ultratecdirect.com/stocklists...

It say "PCB FOR - SEAGATE 80GB ATA100 7200RPM HDD"
But above it it say "ST380011A-PCB"

Im not 100% sure if those are compatible, but it hink so.
There you can find a listof the original pieces you need for your HDD

    hope this helps

What board are you speaking about?

please elaborate the problem in detail.

  • dewan nafees ahmed Jul 17, 2008

    Seagate offers 5years of warranty.

if your product is out of warranty then it is difficult for you to change the board.

you may get a old hard disk of same match which has been damaged due to other problems like bad sectors. use the circuit board in that HDD drive.

other than that you have got no other option sir.

    thank you

  • dewan nafees ahmed Jul 17, 2008

yes it is very difficult to get the exact match in ebay.

you could get this only from some hardware service shop.
if you are lucky they may have it

else it is very difficult for you to change the board.

My 120 Gb seagate Sata harddisk got fired due to high voltage shock. What can i do. Is there any way i can reapair it. Is there any way i can replace the logic board of it with 80 Gb board and try.

I understand the value of the files that resides on the disk:) Yes! It is possible that harddisk may back to life by replacing the logic board but of the same model or part number. If it is not possible by replacing logic board due to other defects such as head crash and spindle drive motor opened/shorted, there still a big chance to recover depending how you value the data on it by contacting international Seagate Data Recovery support service with considerable service fee. Hope this helps.

Hard disk can not detect and giving beep randomly. hard diisk is from seagate and capacity is 80 gb

Hello there..i have experience with same problem like this...there is two problem with hardisk: first with the mechanic platter inside your hardisk ( you can hear noisy sound from inside HDD) 'cause by wrong prosedure when turn off the pc or problem with chipset on hardisk board (you can see the small green pcb board at other side of your hard disk) touch that board...if feel hot yes there is problem.this problem cause by electrical shock from your power supply unit or you not plugin correctly to hdd power socket.

solution for first problem :
send it to nearest seagate 'cause they have all the parts that you need

solution for second problem:
replacle the board with same tipe and size of your hdd..and it will work again and you can safe your data.but if not...nothing you can do it
