You will have to buy one for that vehicle. Suggestion: Call a couple auto parts store and price them sometimes there can be a big difference in price and higher price doesn't always mean better product. Also price new one and rebuilt sometimes the new ones don't cost much more and a new is better then rebuilt but if new is lets say $450.00 and rebuilt is $265.00 I would get the rebuilt but if there is only $50.00 difference I would get the new one. Don't rule out dealer they did drop prices to compete with aftermarket parts to bring sales up. You can also get prices online anymore at some parts houses. Autozone has good listing.

You have option of different brands from different vendors NAPA, dealer or auto parts stores but they will have same basic master cylinder. They have to look part up by application. Shop around for best price and warranty.

Ive got a 1994 Nissan pickup 4x4 cant get brakes to bleed up and stay

may be bad master cylinder ~ you try to gravity bleed them first?

or you may have to bench bleed the master cylinder then re-install, gravity bleed to start

then finish off with the one-man bleeder or 2 person technique

i don't know how you did it, so i'm covering my bases by saying all that

I just replaced the brake master cylinder and rear wheel cylinder on my 1987 toyota pickup, and now I have no fluid going to the back brakes. Bleeding them does nothing

check for fluid before and after the proportioning valve by disconnection the line after the valve and applying the brakes, if no fluid after valve try before valve if fluid is there then it is a bad proportioning valve. you did bleed the master cylinder before connecting the brake line and trying to bleed the brakes all at once right? If the master cylinder was not bled first then a lot of air may have been forced into the rest of the brake lines.

1987 Nissan PU, I replaced the master and slave clutch cyls. I bleed the system and there is no air in the lines but peddle does not get hard. Could the new master or slave cyl be bad? I see you can adjust...

The shaft should come all the way back, when the pedal is back, the master shaft should be adjusted so there is very little play in the pedal. But it needs some play. Make sure you can see the slave cylinder move when you depress the clutch pedal, you will need help to operate the pedal, while you look.

1996 nissan pickup brake lights don't come on. worked yesterday. fuse is good.

If the turn signals work properly check the brake light switch. It is either up under the dash with a little lever resting on the brake pedal or on one of the lines or on the master cylinder under the hood. They have a two wire terminal. Pull the terminal off the switch and jump the two wires with a paperclip or any handy jumper. If the brake lights come on it is the switch. If it is bad, buy a new one. This is not a good part to get from a junkyard.

Clutch goes all the way to the floor fluid comes out of cylinder under hood only shift when ignition is off

The problem is either the clutch master cylinder or the line going from the master cylinder to the clutch slave cylinder.Put some DOT 3 or4 brake fluid in the cylinder under the hood and have some-one look at it while you push the clutch pedal down a couple times. You should be able to see where it is you are losing the fluid.

1987 gmc s15 2.8 litre. Clutch only goes half way

I don't know that specific vehicle, but if its a hydraulic clutch it sounds like either you have a leak and your clutch fluid is low, or the master or slave cylinder could be bypassing internally. Check the fluid level in your clutch master cylinder. If its low, you should top it off with brake fluid and will probably have to bleed the system. Also look for leaks. You can probably find info or a video online of how to bleed the system. Its a bit hard to explain without illustrations or pictures. Not really very difficult to perform. Good luck.

90 nissan pickup, is it neccesary to replace master cylinder when you replace slave cylinder

not always, you will need to flush it well with new brake fluid and then bleed the system. When finished you will know if you need a master cylinder by how well it does or doesnt work.
