Router has stopped responding

Hi,

I am really not sure as to why this happened, but however you may want to try a doing a hard reset (press the reset button on the back of router - you may use a paperclip for the same) with the power on. ensure that the reset is done for a minimum of 30 secs. once its done turn of the power for couple of seconds and then coonnect the modem to the router as it was earlier done and then do a power cycle of both the modem and the router. This should bring back life into the router. I suggest you to try this as there is no harm to any of the devices and is worth trying.

My laptop wont connect to my wireless router, but my desktop which is directly connect will?

You wirless switch has to be turned on for that to work. If that is not the issue then sometimes it it best to plug it in to the router and set it up that way. the computer already recognizes the computer and it finds it easier to set up the wirless.

If you want to make it real easy to manage your computers and the internet. Download a network manage ment program. I will help you connect you computers to the internet and much more. Network Magic Pro or Network Magic Essentials $30-$50.

I hope i have given you information that has helped you.
Thank you for the chance to help as well...

Connecting a brother hl2170 wirless printer to a linksys wrt54g

Take note all the wireless settings of the router first. Now go to the printer and Press Menu/Settings, look for wireless setup wizard. It should find the network, highlight it and connect. If it asks you for the network key, type your wireless network key. It only allows WPA-Personal(TKIP) and WEP. If you have WPA2 or AES, it will not connect

I have a wt54-g broadband router. when trying to go wirless everything went through fine except 1 problem it says cannot connect to the internet. Any way to solve this?

Unplug house connection or router for 30 seconds, then do the linsys for 10 seconds and plug back in. This should reset everything to work correctly. If needed, reset ip address on your pc. Set up home network if necessary.

Conect the router?

1. Unplug your DSL modem’s power supply.

Find the cable connecting your modem and computer.
Unplug it from the modem and plug it into the gray port
on the Belkin Router.

If you are replacing an existing router, find the cable
connecting the computer and old router. Disconnect it from
the old router and plug it into the gray port on the new router.

2. Connect the new cable (provided in the box) to the yellow
port on the Router.

Plug the other end into the modem.

3. Plug in your modem’s power supply. Wait 60 seconds for the
modem to start up.

Plug the Router’s power supply into a wall outlet, and the
other end into the black port on the Belkin Router.

As the Router wakes up, lights will come on; recheck your
connections if the “power” and one of the “wired” lights
are not lit up in green after 20 seconds.

4. Locate the CD in this guide and insert it into your computer.
The Setup Assistant should appear automatically.
If it doesn’t, open the CD in My Computer and double-click on the
“Setup Assistant” icon.It will guide you through he rest of the setup.

DSL line disconnects on WRT54GS only

Try to change the LAN IP address of your router to 192.168.2.1 by accessing the router's Setup page. You also need to set your Westell modem to "full-bridge mode". You need to ask assistance from your ISP to bridge the modem. After that, set-up the Linksys router to PPPoE then power cycle it.

It might be better if you just get a 25-100 foot eathernet cable so you do not have to mess with a second wirless network system a may be a eathernet switch box.

it might be asking for a WEP password in order for you to use it which is on the botom of the router or the game sistem is the one causing the trouble and should not be conected to any wirless or eathernet internet routers.
