Question about Toshiba Satellite A135-S4527 Notebook

Do your store staff enjoy tormenting handicapped people?

The Geek Squad at our local store told my daughter, who has speech issues that all she needed to do to get a replacement wire for her puter was to call a customer service line...which failed to work after she got bounced through a few people...she's now in tears, and the problem is STILL not resolved?

Suggestions? I am hoping this is not how they amuse themselves....

    Hi Galadrial, For a start that's totally unacceptable. Poor kid. Can you post what the problem is with the computer. Oh Yeah, if I were you I would complain LOUDLY to the Head office. In the meantime, send your request. Cheers

Talk to the store's Geek Squad Manager and have the tech involved taken off the problem. There's literally hundreds of "replacement wires" to be potentially worked with.

I m also suffering from same problem on aspire 4310. When the problem occurs, I remove the battery for an minute and insert again.... This trick have solved my problem. Try the same trick on your laptop and see that whether it works or not... Otherwise get it serviced....

Are you sure everything is plugged in correctly? Look on the cord and make sure there are no "shorts" in it becuase sometimes it can have a "short" circuit to it, even if it's new!

I agree. Never ever ever ever ever take your computer to Geek Squad. I don't know how many times I have to go to people's homes and correct something GS did or they tell me they reformatted their drive, losing all their data without telling them first, for something so simple that could have been fixed inside of 15 minutes. And they charge way above industry standard and most of their techs have had no formal training.

Laptop dead - need to rescue data from the hard drive


Most Bestbuys do data retrieval, as do most smaller local shops. A smaller shop will treat you better and have a much better price. Bestbuy is darned expensive.

They used to be great, but now they are just unskilled salesmen. Stick with your manufacturer's approved technicians or use a respectable local technician. Do you have a particular problem that we can help with?
