Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

My JBL PD12 subwoofer stopped working and I opened it and it looked like the fuse was blown so I got a replacement fuse and installed it. As soon as I powered the it on the fuse blew again. Do I need to replace something else or is it just garbage at this point?

Check the cable between your sub and the receiver for short circuit and if the cable is ok you will have an problem in the printed board.

My jbl 12 subwoofer has been making moise at high levels finally it quit, took it apart and fuse was blown. Should I replace the amp?

Well, you can replace the fuse and see if the amp works, but it sounds like the amp may have been over-driven. If you intend to drive the amp at higher levels than what the subwoofer is rated for, it will blow fuses, so you may want to consider a subwoofer that has a higher wattage rating.

No sound out of JBL LSR25P speakers attached to keyboard

problem could be in wiring, fuse, crossover or the components can be damaged. the original JBL tweeter and 5.25" speaker are no longer available so replacement options would be the only alternative.

Fuse blows

Both 3 or 4 amp slow blow fuses are suitable replacements for the 3.125 amp subwoofer fuse.

It could be that the subwoofer is blowing the fuse because the one you installed was not slow blow.

But, more likely is the subwoofer has a short in the power supply which is causing the fuse to blow.

Fuses keep blowing

This particular product has a lot of comments posted on it and I've answered a few of them now so I'm beginning to think you may want to look into weather or not the manufacturer has received any complaints or this is just a freak occurrence. Keep in mind not all commments are the same so this may just be nothing. Either way I can tell you this much, if fuses keep blowing quickly, over and over again-You have a direct short somewhere and will most likely be in need of professional assistance of some sort with the possiblilty of having to replace it. I'm sorry it's not an easier fix but it may not be too expensive.

Bloon Fuses!

You don't need schematics to replace the fuses.
Open the speaker unit by unscrewing the back. The fuses are located near the on/off switch assembly. Replace them and screw the the unit back together.
To avoid blown fuses, try lowering the volume.

JBL Eon 15 Blown Fuse

These fuses are most likely 3 Amp fuses. Please note that if the replacements blow as well, that there is a problem within the amp section that will require repair.
