Toshiba 27D46 27" TV Problem

I'm having the same problem with my Toshiba.  What did the repair shop specify as the problem, and how much did it cost?  Thanks! black picture with white horizontal line in middle of screen.

Is it worth getting repaired what is the problem and what would the cost be to repair?

    I disagree with the tech!!!!!.

Took the TV in for repair it was the horizontal output. $80.00 and is good as new. Tech said it was a picture tube problem and I would be better off getting a new one because of the high price for parts and service.

The picture tube of your T.V is malfunctioning. If your TV set is still under company's warranty then you can contact them to check the problem and act accordingly. Otherwise take your TV to a good electrician, they can fix it but if you will be asking me better have it replace because the cause of the repair and parts replacement is almost the same as a new set...

Hope that helps.........

It should cost you from $50 for dry solder joints up to about$120 for a rebuild of the vertical stages.

Depends really on whether or not you get someone to call out and look at it. That can add up to $100 for this service. Best bet is to drop the set down to your local repair guy for probably a free quote. Toshiba will charge you more, as they do...

Not sure what tech you are disagreeing with. Expert Marked is way off base and appears to not know much about TV if as he said it was a picture tube failure. A horizontal line across the middle of the set is described by all technicians as a "vertical collapse". The fact that the line makes it from one side to the other is evidence that the horizontal stage IS WORKING. If the horizontal output had failed, the set would not have even the line across the middle, further, it would not even turn on as secondary voltages are created by the horizontal output stage . Someone is not telling you the truth my friend. I could go about providing you with endless evidence that what I have said is true. But from having repaired television for 25 years, I my expert attention to your problem is on the money. If you are being told this by a repair person, then seek a second opinion on the set. HOWEVER, $80 is a fair price for the repair costs, but you are being told lies about the it being a horizontal output failure.

It is good that you have the set working again.

How to fix a broken antenna input plug on a toshiba tv

These input plugs are often soldered on to a printed circuit board mounted to the internal chassis of the TV. Much of the circuitry in a TV is lethal when switched on, and in some types, even when not plugged in for a time. Therefore I'd advise taking it to a repair shop and asking for a cost estimate.

With parts and labour that might even approach the cost of a new one, for which you get a warranty.

Check and replace all the electrolytic capacitors at its vertical output section circuit. There will be five or 6 of them. Replace all.

TV had moisture get in. TV status- Turns on fine, sound is fine, but no picture, just a white line horizontal across middle of screen

Field scan drive has gone, This requires your local repair shop.
Give them a call first and describe the problem.

Moisture causes problems with the circuit board long after it has dried out.
There may be other problems only evident when the picture is restored.

I have a toshiba 3z36v51. it used to be distorted till it warmed up. then i started to have to smack it to get it to work. now it just powers on and has a blank screen with sound. whats wrong and is it...

There is a part insidethe TV that needs to be replaced; probably the main board. If the TV is under warranty—whetherthe original warranty from the manufacture or an extended warrantypurchased with the TV—call the company providing the warrantycoverage and they will arrange to have your TV repaired at little, orno cost to you.

If the TV is out ofwarranty, and you have the experience and you know what you're doing, you can fix the TV yourself. Purchase the service manual from themanufacture to get started. However, if you've never done anythinglike this type of repair before and you don't know where to start, Isuggest speaking with an experienced TV repair-person.

If you decide to pay forout of warranty repair by a professional repair shop, the total costwill likely be a minimum of $300 parts and labor. However, be warnedthat the cost could be considerably higher. A new 37" LCD from Walmart.com would cost you $468.

Since some brands willpay for your repair even if you're out of warranty, you shouldcontact the manufacture first for your full range of options. Ifthey're willing to fix the TV for free, let them!

I hope I've provided youuseful assistance and that this information allows you to make aninformed decision as to how to proceed from here. Please be sure tovote on my response. I hope I've earned a good rating from you today!

Blinking red light on toshiba 32a33

Flashing lights on most TV's indicates a faulty voltage somewhere in the power supply or other voltage sensitive section. Like the "check engine" light on most cars, repair will require a trip to the shop. Get an estimate first. In the new world of disposable electronics the cost of repair may exceed the value of the set.

Toshiba 27D46 27" TV Problem

Hi

It will not be the picture tube. Your set will have cracked solder joints in and about the vertical output stages. This is not a major repair, and will require re-soldering of that stage, and maybe a few capacitors replaced as a cursory repair as preventative maintenance. should cost between $50-80 depending on who you get to look at it. If you are quoted a price higher than this, I suggest ringing around repair guys in your area and be careful to explain exactly what you have described the fault as here.

I am more than happy to answer any other questions you may have about it, please get back to me here, or use the ASK function to go straight to me :) If you are still unsure, have problems, or we need to look at the situation more deeply, then before you give a rating for this advice, hit the ASK button Thanks for using FixYa, If you consider the advice I have given you as sound, a FixYa rating is a great reward for my efforts to help you. No pic, no sound

Power light blinking mean that the internal power supply is not working correctly. Often the internal power supply itself need to be repaired ( usually a one hour work if spare parts available). Another basic circuit in the TV can be short circuited due to a component failure and consequently cause the internal power supply to block everything. A routined pro must be able to tell you within short time cost of repair and spare parts. Up to you to then decide wether or not have this set repaired. Be aware a pro will ask you a fee for this service, even you don't want the set to be repaired. You can save some cost if you bring your TV set yourself to the repair-shop. The kind of problem is not really age-related; if your TV is running daily 16 hours, with many on/off switching, and particularly in a cool place can degrade some components within warranty time.

Toshiba CX36G60 36 inch tv has blinking light

Most likly it is a power regulator problem, and had nothing to do with the Xbox. These sets are common for this BUT it is unfortainate, that most likly you will be surprised when you take the set into the repair shop, on the cost of the repair. In a set this old, I would not evenm invest in an estamate charge, as Im quessing its going to cost between 225 to 300 to repair. Good Luck
