Youhave to understand that the monitor is telling you that it is not receiving a signal from your computer connection. check the connecting cable to be sure itis tight, try another cable. if that fails then the Videocard in the computer may have come loose or corroision on the fingers that connect down in the mother board. take the video card out and scrub the fingers with alcohol, and replace. if that does not work, then the video card has failed.

Me e machine desk top has been stored away for 6 months, i have set it up & the monitor won't stay on & it's saying no signal?

When the monitor says no signal, it means that it is not detecting a monitor. You need to check the cabling of your monitor and verify that it is properly plugged in. Normally its a blue VGA connection or a white DVI connection that goes to the back of the computer. Also, some monitor requires a seperate power source and you need to check this as well

No signal detected

Where the cable is plugged in, a terminal probably came loose internally. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPAIR THIS YOURSELF! There are very high voltages inside. Buy a new monitor or take it to a repair shop.

My dell inspiron 530 shows a block with red, white, green, and read, can't get to the my programs????

That "red white green and blue" block is a color pattern tester. that means the monitor is on, but is not receiving a signal, so its running tests. If your monitor has Digital input and VGA input, you may just need to switch inputs. Look for 1 or VGA if youre using the blue hook up. look for 2 or digital or dvi if youre using the larger white hook up. Some monitors also have 'auto detect'. If you are in "auto detect' bbut the color box is still there, then your monitor is not receiving video signal from the computer. It could indicate a bad cable or no signal being sent by the machine. If you try another monitor, you can see if the machine is working. I would try a monitor setting for VGA-1 first, since thats most common.

My pc is on but my monitor saids no signal detected but there is power on the monitor

Try it on another PC, check the pins at both ends of the VGA cable or try new cable. Try another monitor with this PC. We need to isolate the problem first.
