I have a dial up connection. I just bought a new computer and when I try to connect to the internet, I get a message that says my user name or password is not valid on the domain. I don't remember my password to sign onto the internet. What can I do to fix the problem?

Cannot connect to the web

Hello

1. First you need to know if your phone has GPRS is active.

2. Buy a USB data cable. This will connect your Motorola and your laptop so that they can communicate.

3. Connect the cable to the bottom of your phone, and boot up you computer . Connect the other end of the cable into the USB port. You will get a message that says, "New Hardware Found." You will need to install the drivers.

4. Click on the "Start" menu on your computer, and go to "Control Panel" and "Network and Dial-Up connection." Double-click on "Make a New Connection."

5. Select "Dial-up to the internet." Click "I want to set up my Internet connection manually." Go to "I connect through a phone line and a modem." Find your Motorola V3 and in Type "#777" for the phone number if you have Sprint or Verizon, or 99# if you have AT&T or Cingular. If you don't use any of these services, you will have to call up your cell phone service provider and ask them to provide you with a phone number. Click "Next."

6. Enter your user name and password. Get this from your cell phone service provider. If you are a Verizon user, you can use "Web" for both the user name and password. Create a name for your connection and save.

7 .Click on the connection that you just created and click "Dial." Wait for it to connect and once it has, open up your browser and surf normally.
BEST OF LUCK

I got a Dell desktop computer from a friend who bought it new. It only has a dial up connection so I got it hooked up. Problem that I have is it won't dial out to connect to the internet. Ralphie

Hi dlwbaw

You have to make a new connection.
Go to "Control Panel", find "Network Connections", double click on that, here you choose file (in the menu) and choose "New Connection". Follow the Wizard (choose, new connection to the internet, connection without code/username/password, and normaly people have DSL connections).
Try to connect the pc to the internet now, this should work, if not:
you have to have the setup way from your internet provider, many times they have a manual on the internet. If it is a connection with user name/ code, you have to Edit your friends internet connection (icon on network connections) or make a new connection with this codes.
The codes you get from your internet provider

Some internet providers allow only one computer connected to the internet.

Hope that helps
Have a nice Sunday :O)

Click Next. Enter the required information for the connection:
Dial-up phone number: 513-520-1135
User Name: (the NCF accountID that was assigned to you)
Password: (the password chosen by you when you registered)
Remember this password(check this box)
Connection Name:NCF Internet - Libertel
Allow other people to see this connection: Check this if you want this connection for all users on your computer (recommended)
