I'm in the process of replacing some parts on my Rainbow and found out my Rainbow has a filter around the motor. I can't figure how to get my Rainbow apart to get to the motor to see if the filter needs replaced.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The Rainbow E2 Series can be complicated and the best way if you are to do it yourself is to contact the Rainbow factory; to get the owner’s manual and check the trouble shooting and or a schematic to see the break down. As per the filter – the water in the pan is actually the filter; there is a rubber gasket that you could replace and there are screw under the gasket but the biggest maintenance is the cleaning of the separator, take a newspaper and place it under the Rainbow and turn on the vacuum without the water pan underneath and spin the moisture out of the motor for a period of 30 to 45 seconds. Also, there are a lot of wires under the housing so make sure you mark or label your wires when you install or re-install the motor section. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
