Anyone know how to get the fan to run the opposite direction??? this fan is really unfriendly if you do not have the owners manual, and you might as well forget ever getting a replacement ballast for the light system, its nearly impossible. Thanks for any help

I have this fan with the remote. The top right-hand switch on the remote says fwd/rev and that does, in fact, reverse the direction of the blades. The manual says to make sure the fan is still moving when you press this switch or it won't reverse direction.

Do you want to sell your Covington Ceiling fans? I may be interested in purchasing them. If you live in Atlanta, I could remove the old ceiling fans and install your new ones if you need.

We have a hampton bay ceiling fan model 54cvt. We cant figure out how to change the light bulb or change the direction of the blades. We dont have a manual for the fan.

This fan is also known as the Hampton Bay Covington 54 Ceiling Fan. You need to turn the globe anti clockwise until it comes out. The full instruction manual can be found here.

Hampton Bay Covington 54" Ceiling Fan Light Does Not Come On

Try taking the lighting kit completely off it make sure the blue wire and white wire are both firmly connected.

Does the remote work on the fan part ok? Do you have the black, white, and green wire on the house side connected to the side of the receiver with the same wires?

You know the black and blue are hot for the fan and lights (blue for lights). If the wiring connections are ok it had to be either in the remote or receiver. Are the dip switches set for the same on each?

Make sure the power wires from the ceiling mount are still in the electric box. Then have them come from the side near the screw mounting area. In otherwords, not through the center hole. In the center of the black metal part - there is where you put the reciever. It will fit literally resting on the black metal.

I recently replaced my hampton bay fan for the same reason (slow at all speeds) and discovered scorched and melted capacitors and wiring inside the fan. My suggestion is to stop using fan and replace immediately.
