Apart from checking connections at eyesight, you should thest them with a multimeter, did you do this?

There are only two causes for this: When a surface unit fails it will usually "open" the electrical circuit and no further heating will take place. When this happens, the surface unit simply appears to have stopped working.

Or,

In some rare instances the element, within the surface unit, will "short-out" against the sheath which is the outer visible part of the surface unit. This will cause the sheath to rupture and sparks may occur for a few seconds. The sparking ceases after a few seconds. There may also be a "burning plastic" odor at this time.

That's an electric cooker? I urge you not to open anything inside unless you know exactly what you're doing. The risk of electirc shock is very possible, anything not connected properly could heat up and start a fire and burn down your house. Refer to the TROUBLESHOOTING portion of the manual the oven came with, and try those remedies. If that doesn't work, you could use the warranty and get a free repair or even replacement, that is depending on what your warranty covers and how long it lasts.

You need to test the connection using the tester since it was appear to be good but it is busted.

How to clean stubborn burned on stains in the stainless steel oven

You need to use ordinary soap as a lubricant and a fine steel wool to buff the steel surface. That will remove any built up surface debris completely but you may still have some discolouration of the metal remain.
An automotive polish designed for polishing stainless steel and aluminium (available from auto parts stores) might finish the job for you and remove much of any remaining staining but I would not use a chemical of that type on an inside surface that is used for cooking your food. (Same issue with those dreadful chemical and toxic oven cleaners).

Unfortunately, with use of the unit and heat , you will get some residual discolouration of the stainless steel.

GE Electric Range (2001 JCP67YWW) has a mind of its own

I suggest you look up the model number and see if it has a replaceable thermostat for the oven and try that. Make sure you disconnect the stove from the power outlet first.

    Feature not available

I had the same problem with a new kitchenaid range which they have agreed to replace after 1 month. Oven shut off a couple times while baking and feature not available displayed when trying to turn on oven again. I tried starting clean cycle and waiting a couple minutes for element to heat then cancelled clean cycle. Oven worked fine after this but this shouldnt be a solution, obviously something not wired right.

    Maytag cook top too hot!

Remove cooktop and check to see how much insulation is below the top, on top of the oven cavity, You may want to install some more insulation. The specs for this range probably allows this to happen. you should not put anything on the top after cooking in the oven, as glass breakage may occur.

    Hello wittjabel,
    Welcome to Fixya

Please send me the model number and year of your range.
You could try turning off the breaker to the range for 5 minutes and see if this resets the system!
    Let me know.
    Thank You, I'm waiting.

I have a built-in GE electric convection-regular oven. Model JT915W0F8WW. I don't understand when I push the convection baking do I change the baking time? Isn't it suppose to bake faster than the...

As a genaral rule of thumb.. Most recipes can be adjusted for convection oven use by decreasing the temperature by 25 degrees F and decreasing cooking time about 25%. Dishes with cooking times over 45 minutes, and that might dry out too much (like lasagna, or meatloaf) you should cover for the first half of the cooking time, and then remove the cover.
