First check the name plate for the proper voltage. If it is rated for 115/120 volts there is no reason to change the plug and if done can result in burning out the unit.

In the new plug there will be one green wire screw, attach the green ground wire to that screw. The other two wires can go to ether of the other two screws. If the new plug has a clamp for holding the cord make sure it is secure. Then you should be good to go.

My videocon split ac showing on display e6 what is the problem

In this Videocon AC manual it suggests EEPROM communication failure. I don't know if this is your model because you didn't tell us what model you have. But the error could be the same no matter which model you have.
This error is internal to the control board so the only suggestion they have is to unplug the unit for 30 seconds and then plug it in again.

If you have the equipment to solder and a microscope or magnifying headset, you just might be able to see a bad solder joint and fix it if that's the problem. Otherwise you'll have to get a replacement control board.

Frididaire refrigerator TRIPS BREAKER

If you have external capacitor/s on the compressor sealed unit I would have them checked first. Other than that I suspect that the compressor or motor in the sealed un it has seen better days and has seized creating an overload or short circuit. have a fridge mechanic check it out.

For a/c unit, is there an adapter available or do I need a new plug cord

Actually you should buy and install an AC wall outlet. An AC uses more amperage than most any other appliance due to the fact it has 2 motors the compressor and the blower / fan motor. An AC wall plug has larger terminals so that the plug does not ever heat. Changing the cord to a different and smaller terminal plug is a bad choice due to the danger of overheating the wall outlet terminals. You can buy the AC horizontal terminal outlets at any hardware store. Unless you have a 110V AC unit you will also have to run a 220V #10 Romex (3 wire) with ground to the outlet to be in code.. An AC unit 1 HP (10,000) BTU or larger requires over 15 Amps for start up. Those that are 20,000 BTU or larger obviously require more than 15 amps as a power source.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Air conditioner will stop working and not restart for 36 to 48 hours. Then it will operate normally again. Frigidaire Gallery model #FACO65J7A2 5950 BTU

Apparently it works ok when it does. You have to check the 110 Volt house AC supply to the unit when it quits. A loose and poor connection on the AC supply can get hot and open up and not reconnect until it wants to. If the voltage is on the unit when it quit then someone will have to "look fer it'

My AC needs a new 220 cable

If the damage is close to the end of the cable, simply get a replacement plug end from a home repair store and put it on.
Cut the old plug off and install the new plug.
when you go to buy the cord end, take the old one with you so you get the correct configuration.
