My laser turns levels tries to spin but wont. I am told its the motor. can l buy a motor ?

Those units are primary belt driven for the rotating head, and leveling motors. Likely your belt is broken. They are rubber O rings, and you can likely source them locally. Open it up, and make sure it's just a broken belt.

CD player wont work. Radio does. CD wont turn- just blinks
The laser pickup assembly is the problem, the pladder motor that spins the disc is not working, causes! no B+ to the motor, the pladder motor is defective, or the laser pickup is the issue. To get this item fixed, it must be done on site at the factory plus they have all the available parts.

Sony cdp-c215 wont read disc removed cover disc doesn't spin
The pladder motor that spins the disc is open, or the laser pickup is defective, the whole laser assembly would need to be replaced, not cost effective to repair cheaper to buy.

Wont play
If its not a power problem, notice that the servo motor is spinning or trying to spin with a disc in the tray.
-listen carefully for a high pitch or whinning sound of the motor.
-do you have a reading on the screen? No disc or reading disc?

One of the above can be:
1- a defective laser (it wont illuminate)
2- a broken flat cable to the laser (you wont hear clicking sound when reading)
3- a bad servo motor that can not reach its speed to read the disc (has to spin at a very high speed)

My girlfriend beat the **** out of my ps2 slim rite ove the disk area an now disk wont spin and laser wont move
Obviously, the unit has been damaged. The disc motor and laser are damaged. Those parts are expensive and there's no telling what else may be damage. I suggest just buying a new unit

PS3 Inserted media is not spinning
I had the same problem with my PS3, I changed my 400aaa and thought it would fix the disc not spinning problem. It was'nt until i bought another brand new laser that it started to work again. I have heard rumors that some of the lasers you buy (like from e-bay) work but dont work right. I wound up spending over $140.00 to find out that my "New" laser was a refurbished one from China and didn't read any of my media. I went to a U.S. seller and he got me a new laser with a warranty and I'll be damnned if it didnt boot right up and run after that.

Wont spin
you will either have to have the DC Laser Lens Big Motor or the complete DC Laser Collectivity replaced. other then that try cleaning the laser and any parts you can and using air to blow the system out those are my only suggestions for you hope that helps.

Parts for them are fairly cheap on ebay and other online shops.

Disk wont spin
are you a cute blond? i give you alot of credit, but your going about it wrong.
1.you need to know if there is red/blue coming out of the laser.
2.is the laser focusing (moving up and down)
3.the spindle height has to be at the correct height for the laser to read the disk (thus spinning it) and the spindle also had had problems with this unit. (you can clean it up )
4. once it spins the disk it has to read the TOC (table of contents)which means it has to move to the inner most part of the cd

Laser Wont fire
I had the very same problem with my ps2. What I had found was that I had indeed gotten a nonfunctioning laser. After I installed another new laser, the system functions without any problem. I hope this information helps you.

Ps2 slim line
if the laser is moved to the middle of the area and when you first turn it on it doesn't go back to starting possession's then some thing is wrong with the motor drive more than not it's likely you have a crack in the board.
