Hey there. I have a F700, and it says Card not Initalized. We have used this camera for a long time, and it's never said that. What should I do?  THanks.

I uploaded some photos off my camera to my computer now the screen reads "Card Not Initialized"

When I turn on my camera it says card not initialized. I have a PC at home and recently downloaded pics to my mac at work. I think that might be why, but I don't know how to fix it. It's done this before and I can't remember what I did to fix it. I don't want to lose my pictures that are on this card!

You said 'I can't develop the pics.'
Explain what you are trying to do here
The message no intitalized could also mean not formated.
Have you had images on this card before or is it a new one?
Much more detail required.

When I turn the camera on, it says "card not initialized", but it's the same card I have used always. The card is good. I took it to a store and all the pics were still there. Help!

This happens sometimes if the card was inserted into a computer or another camera or when a camera is disconnected from a computer without using the "safely remove hardware" function. You need to get a card reader and use it to download your pictures to your computer. Then, insert the card into the camera, go into the menu and find "format" (may be called "initialize") and follow the on-screen instructions to erase the card and initialize it. typrice_35.jpg

Sd card was in a wildview camera and I took it out to look at the pictures but now it is saying card not initialized. What do you think is wrong with the card?

If you took the card out and put it into a computer to view the pics, and then didn't use the "safely remove hardware" function when you removed the card, the card is slightly corrupted and needs to be formatted in the camera. This will erase it so download any pics to your computer first.

Card not initialized

It wants you to format the card in the camera. Download any pics from the card first using a card reader if necessary since formatting will completely erase the card.

Card not initialized

unfortunately SD cards are very unreliable. if the card is recognized by your computer but you are still unable to view the pics... you have to format the card - This will result in the loss of all data on the card. If you perform a quick format you could try using an undelete software - A great suite of software is called glary utilities and it includes an undeleter. but i dont know if you will be able to save them or not
