When I plug my Maxell 8Gb 360 usb thumb drive into my computer at work, which is running XP, the OS can see the whole 8Gb, but I cannot put a 4Gb file on the stick. However when I use my windows 7 laptop at home, I can fill the whole memory, any ideas as to why this happens?

How do I remowe wrightprotection on maxell usb drive

Assuming you have Windows 7 - click on start > right click on Computer > manage > Disk Managment on the left > select the usb drive from the menu at the bottom > right click and format, Name it whatever you want. If you want to copy files over 4gb then select NTFS if not then stick with FAT32. Leave allocation unit size as it is. Make sure there is a tick next to Perform a quick format (unless it fails then untick it) then format. Please note that these steps will completely wipe your usb stick of any content it currently has.

How do i use a maxell usb 360 2.0 flash drive

Before you enter a drive in the computer, install the appropriate software and drivers, so the computer does recognise the drive. The software came with the drive, or a paper with a link where you can download the software.

Windows 7 Cannot find drivers for Maxell 4 GB USB 360

Good day

USB Flash drives use a standard windows driver. This means that the first thing to test is to see if any other USB drives works on your dell laptop. The second thing to test is to use a different USB port. This should eliminate hardware failure. I would recommend simply toing into device manager and look for the universal serial bus controllers. Listed will be all the USB drives. You can simply uninstall all the drives and restart the computer. This will force windows to reinstall the drivers.

((computer administrator for sharing))

You will have to be the computer administrator to change any values on any hard drive

click start control panel user accounts you should see a box with the administrator and the guest account if you have made one click on the administrator this may vary depending on which operating system you have

click start click to open on my computer you should see your hard drive usually C: right click select properties there will be an array of options select the security tab option then advanced make sure you have full control in windows 7

click start control panel user accounts click on the administrators account if you have made one or you will have to create one in windows XP
also
If you are running a Windows XP OS then you might be able to:
- click start right click on my computer select open
- Right click the icon of your Flash Drive (It should be F:/ or something)
- Click Properties in the menu that comes up
- Click the Sharing tab
- Click permissions
- And finally, click Allow next to Full Control. also you might

The thumb drive might have some fault.
Plug it in other OS mainly windows XP and Linux.
If still same problem persists after tried in Linux, problem is with pen drive.
You can ask for a replacement from the dealer as it has guarantee for 5years.

My usb 4gb flash don my computer only reads in a secure K with 1m

See http://www.maxell.eu/FAQ2/FAQ.html

Venture USB contain two partitions - one named 'Public' and the other 'Secure'. Unfortunately we have noticed a compatibility problem between these drives and some computers running Windows Vista. In these cases only one drive is showing in 'My Computer' - usually the 'Secure' drive. As a result you are unable to access the user manuals and software which are in the 'Public' drive and cannot alter the partition sizes to allow access to the entire capacity.

Please follow the below instructions to resolve the problem:

1. Connect the USB to the computer
2. Please unzip and run the attached program
3. After completion please unplug the USB
4. Re-insert the USB to the USB port
5. You should now be able to access both drives.

Please click here to download the program and instructions

Sandisk Cruzer 8gb Error

Make sure you are logged in as an administrator. I'd also try the thumb drive in a different computer just to make sure the problem isn't with the thumb drive itself. The drive could also be unformatted, or formatted with a filesystem for a different platform that can't be read by XP.
