I bought a phillips very simple webcam. I went to the phillips sight and downloaded and update and I have no problems with it.

On my 2nd notebook, the exact same notebook as the first, I keep getting an error in my device manager for this webcam. I have tried reinstalling etc. I also tried checking out Windows XP undates but got errors there too and couldnt update.Any ideas?

You have to install the software for the cam before you plug it in. Go to the cams manufacturers website and under support or downloads select the right software for your model and operating system. Download and install the software and it will work.Hope this helps...

I cannot take a picture with my webcan in my laptop

Possible that the web cam is not installed properly . so uninstall the webcam from the PC, shut down and restart. now download the driver software from the free download center of HP. once the program is run, connecct the web cam to be detected and installed. check the properties. if this wont open then there can be problems in the webcam- suspected hardware issues. to confirm try the cam with another PC.

Hi,
Here's the GE Easycam driver software:
http://www.jascoproducts.com/support/download-files/98063.zip

Download it to your desktop. Unzip it to a folder. Plug the webcam in.
The operating will detect it but not be able to install drivers for it.
Now go to Control Panel > System > Device Manager.
There will be an 'Unknown Device' with a yellow exclamation mark. This device is the webcam. Double click on it, and click the Driver tab. Now click Install Driver, and then the 'Browse Computer for Driver' type option, and navigate to the folder you unzipped it to, select it, install and reboot.
Done!

Here is the user manual too:

Hope this helps

Webcam wont load

Hi,

If the two (cam + laptop) have not worked together before, it might be due to drivers problems. Most drivers are very OS specific. In some instances Vista has been known to have USB and/or compatibility issues. On the otherhand XP sometimes requires that you uninstall the old drivers, reboot before (re)installing new drivers, reboot before installing the hardware and allow autodetect and auto install.

If the two (cam + laptop) have worked together before and now doesn't, it might be due to hardware problems such as the cord, the cam itself or the USB port of the laptop. If your other USB devices works, then USB port(s) can be ruled out. You can verify that the camera works buy installing it in another PC.

You can verify OS compatibility of your camera as well as updated drivers at the Logitech website. Additionally, you can check for Microsoft updates/patches and fixes like this USB patch for Vista.

Should you need additional information, pls post back with your cam's brand/model, your laptop's brand/model and your OS version.

Hope this be of help. Good luck and kind regards.
